Colts go from 10+ win team to #1 overall pick because Peyton doesn't play (and Painter sucks too). If you don't think Fins can get to 10+ wins you're nuts.

Peter King tweeted:
Quote:
Denver wants Manning "desperately,'' one competitor for Peyton tells me.
Then quickly had to tweet this:
Quote:
Now, people, understand this: Miami, Jets, Seattle and I'm sure 3 or 4 others want Manning "desperately'' too. Doesn't give Denver any edge.
wonder why

Where does everyone hope he lands?

I'm hoping for the 49ers, because that would have to be his best chance for an FU ring. That team would be so insanely fun to watch.

I think he'd have a better shot with the Texans and as I said many times, he could stick it up Irsay's ass 2x a year. Win-win.

Chiefs have apparently offered him a blank check

Niners/texans/ravens are my preference, ignoring any obstacles that exist.

A move to the Texans would provide a pretty easy path to the AFC Championship game, and the 49ers are likely getting a bye. At that point, Manning face comes into play.

It sounds like it will be an AFC team but Alex Smith wants a 5 year deal which isnt happening. Maybe the Niners could somehow sneak in there. Thats my current pipe dream anyways

kubiak tho. agree that houston looks best on paper, but its hard to overcome top down incompetence. san fran is def the best for ranging.

i think schaub is too good & too well paid to cast aside at this point for a couple years of manning

Matt Schaub is about to turn 31. So he most likely only has a couple years left too, probably more than Manning. Debatable whether to have Schaub for about 5 years or Peyton Manning for 3.

Miami w/ Peyton would be better than the Jets but still behind the Pats. Peyton is smart enough to realize that signing up to play in a division with 1 better team in it (that isn't going anywhere) and 1 pretty close behind is far from optimal.

49ers were great last year but don't project at close to 13-3. the NFL is basically

Packers/Saints/Pats
Texans
Eagles/Ravens/Steelers/Giants/49ers/Jets

or something close to that, obv. gets murkier the further you go

Yup. I don't know why he'd want to play for Miami and be a wild card every year vs. going to the Chiefs and basically getting a bye before the season even starts.

Are these teams getting to see Manning throw a football before they sign him?

So for the Texans crowd, if they signed Peyton, would they trade Schaub?

well, I don't agree with that. The Chiefs last year were almost as bad as the Colts. and the Chargers are still an above average team. Chiefs + Peyton would be far from a playoff lock

Didn't the Chiefs suffer big time injuries to all their impact players in the first two games of the season?

like safety, QB, and RB?

chiefs are an ok team with a bit of talent, a really bad coach, and some residual turmoil in management from the haley regime and pioli's management tactics. will have decent in division competition.

dolphins are a decent team with some uncertainty due to a whole new staff being inserted. they have a very very hard division.

broncos will be a sht show in the media with tebow. not sure how good their team is anyway.

houston is stable with an elite d, elite oline, elite skill players, a great dc and an uneven head coach. also, a super easy division.

niners have an elite d, meh skill players and elite coaching. a pretty easy division.

its really gotta be either the texans or niners.

lol you two are in super-denial if you honestly think the dolphins with peyton wouldn't be = or > than the pats, especially given the hilarious pats defense. he'll be playing the pats either way, and i'd think he'd be much more comfortable playing in 70 degree outdoor weather at home, then 15 degree arrowhead come december.

also LOL at that list including the eagles/jets, #cmonson.
