GM's are drafting a 16 man roster from players who will feature at the World Cup.

Eligibility rules:

A player is eligible if he has an international cap for a world cup nation in the last year, or if there is significant evidence that he will be part of his country's squad despite being uncapped. Please provide this evidence in your write-up. I've included this last part because I can think of a couple different examples that should be included in this.

The draft is top heavy so we will be doing ABBBABAB. Starting 11 and first sub will be single rounds, last four subs will be double pick rounds. If someone could make a spreadsheet that'd be great.

I paired ashley with Dean as they both wanted a co-owner and are both sound gents.

I think an 8 hour clock with no dead time is good because of time zones but try to pick sooner by leaving lists and whatnot, I'm sure lots of railers will be happy to help in this regard.

After that pm's are helpful but you should be checking the thread regularly rather than expecting one. From Rosario, Argentina, and currently at FC Barcelona we have what pretty much everyone recognizes as the best player in the world, and many argue as the best player in the history of the game. With an explosive speed, technique, associated game and mental brilliance, this is the player you dont want to be against.

Currently the captain of the Argentinian squad, no one doubts about his will to win and destroy defenses, as well as his mental game and "WIM" that many have said that was a huge part of his road to success.

His numbers are pretty much mind blowing at the least, in 295 appearances for FCB he has scored 239 goals, making him the all time top scorer of the club among many other records. For Argentina "la pulga" has scored 37 goals in 83 games the last two being against Paraguay (9/10/13) for a WCQ 5-2 win.

One of the most notable records he holds is the one he broke last years gerd muller record for moast goals scored on a year (Jan-Dec) messi-91, muller-85, winning 4 ballon d'or in a row, as well as being 4 times in a row the top scorer at a UCL.

With the national squad, messi won the Olympic Gold Medal: 2008, and the FIFA U-20 World Cup: 2005 in both being a huge part of the team success. In WC 2006 messi still a boy scored his first WC goal against serbia and montenegro, but ultimately argentina lost against germany on quarter finals. On 2010 Argentina had no chance under "maradroga" and got crushed 4-0 vs germany again.

The best player in TBLITW. The best forward after the two hoping to be GOAT. Dynamic, can create completely by himself. The Uruguayan jumped into the headlines four summers ago with a handball vs Ghana. Since moving to Pool he has improved every year and will surely be giving England fans and every other team nightmares this tournament.

Not really. Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez the clear top 3. Now is where it becomes interesting.

I think it'd be kinda cool to also say what formation you're using and slot guys in that formation as you draft 'em. Just makes railing a little more fun IMO. You can guess as to how the rest of formation fills out. Just a suggestion.

This usually happens about 2-3 guys in. Really hard to pick out a formation with 1 dude.

Could've gone so many different ways here. We decided to go with Ribery since he suits way more styles then the 2 undrafteds. He is more flexible being able to play on the either wing and in the centre.

Ribery is in the form of his life. Being the best player on the best current club side atm, he not only has the pace and dribbling ability, but the passing and scorepoints to go along with it. The combination of searing pace with dribbling, playmaking ability and scoring with assists is unmatched outside of Messi imo.
