In terms of like this thread specifically- I think it's likely that a lot of folks's first thoughts were of the kids- but there's not much to say there. It's so obviously horrible you're not going to see a lot of conversation talking about that. The PSU stuff is the more entertaining, less horrifying conversation.

well, i guess self righteous delusion isnt endemic to happy valley. heres the thing, this almost always (sometimes whistleblowers emerge and gain the necessary platform and clout) goes down in the same fashion for any entity or organization with a ton at stake.

papers/tweeters are reporting that the freeh investigation could come out friday... of course last week they said the same thing about monday

the freeh investigators met with spanier at spanier's request earlier this week

If they make the report "publicly available" via a web site, they better have a lot of servers - or farm it out simultaneously to a multitude of web sites and news outlets. A Thursday morning release makes sense since that coincides with the Penn State BoT's long scheduled meeting.

Interesting that Spanier requested a pre-publication meeting with Mr. Freeh. Looks like his attorneys are already plotting damage control strategy.
