Either way, two things:

- compelling arguments being made here for just going straight to the police yourself, and informing superiors after the fact. I guess I'm wrong;
- I can now see how he's going to lose his job because of this given the reaction in this thread;
I believe they are all required by law to report it to police if it was definitely an eyewitness account (which it sure sounds like it was).

Ohhh god. Anyone who had knowledge of this and didn't report it to external authorities is a scumbag POS.

Seriously, if you are a lackey at any company and are afraid of losing your job, aren't there whistleblower lines you can call anonymously?

People need to burn in hell.

sickening story. F Penn State, every single one these f'ers should go to prison. I wonder if some of Sandusky's victims are going to come forward for damages when this gets rolling.

Unless the law says different mind.

Now maybe you might call the police yourself if it became clear to you that the Principal was covering up the report...
jfc, i looked up former and latter just to make sure, and now im just thinking you mixed up the two. wtf, you call hte police this is just i dunno im legit mad just wow

I don't understand how it's the principal's responsibility, he just tells the superintendent, who tells the school board, who tells the state education department, who tells the department of education, who tells the president. Cops don't need to get involved imo

I mean I don't know how any adult sees a 58 year old man butt-banging a little kid and doesn't run in and kick the guy in the dick then call the cops.

Why would you do that when you can run away and call your dad?

Paterno tells the AD when he finds out what what on. Ok fair enough, good for him for reporting it. However when nothing comes of it, and police are not involved asap, wtf?!?! You call the cops obv.

Oh and anyone who rapes a kid deserves to be killed FTW

Yes. It's amazing to see in person. I've seen seemingly normal people just go absolutely speechless when they would ran into Paterno. It's like they're worshipping a deity. I knew a girl who cried when they would lose a game because "JoePa's winning percentage" was going down. (Approx 10 yrs ago)

Sickos.

Not in the same league as Sandusky tho.
