"Penn State trustee Albert L. Lord said he is “running out of sympathy” for the “so-called” victims of former Nittany Lions assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, according to an email sent to The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Lord, a former CEO of student loan company Sallie Mae, also defended Graham Spanier, the dismissed Penn State president who was convicted of one count of child endangerment last week for his handling of complaints about Sandusky.

"Running out of sympathy for 35 yr old, so-called victims with 7 digit net worth," Lord said in the email sent Saturday. "Do not understand why they were so prominent in trial. As you learned, Graham Spanier never knew Sandusky abused anyone."

Spanier was found not guilty of conspiracy and a second child endangerment count at the same trial. Spanier had stated multiple times since Sandusky’s arrest --- which led to a conviction on 45 charges related to the sexual abuse of young boys and a prison term of up to 60 years ---- that he was never informed of Sandusky’s transgressions.

Penn State is estimated to have paid out about $93 million to more than 30 Sandusky victims, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.

"Al Lord’s comments are personal and do not represent the opinions of the board or the university," Ira M. Lubert, the chairman of Penn State’s Board of Trustees, said in a statement to the publication. "The sentiments of the board and university leadership were expressed in the very first line of the statement released by Penn State: First and foremost, our thoughts remain with the victims of Jerry Sandusky."

Lord is an alumni-elected trustee, and he's currently seeking re-election. He's one of five candidates running for three spots in an election that will conclude on May 4."

Al Lord is one of the board members that the PS4RS group urged the alumni to put on Penn St.'s Board of Trustees. Penn Staters 4 Responsible Stewardship (PS4RS) is a thinly-veiled pro-Paterno action group who puts out recommendations every election cycle since the scandal broke for who the alumni should vote onto the Penn St. Board of Trustees. Getting endorsed by PS4RS is pretty much required for winning an alumni seat on the PSU board.

IIRC, PS4RS has endorsed nine candidates for Board seats and those nine candidates are undefeated since the scandal. In order to get an endorsement from PS4RS, a candidate has to outcrazy all the other candidates for how much of a saint Paterno was and who badly he was wronged in November 2011.

The alumni have even turned on former PSU player Adam Taliaferro for not being crazy enough after they elected him to the board. Taliaferro suffered a spinal cord injury while playing for PSU, and was subsequently endorsed by PS4RS/elected to the board. He is now largely vilified on PSU boards for not standing up enough for Paterno after all St. Joe did for him after his injury.

Ira Lubert coming out against Al Lord is just red meat for the Cult. Lubert is hated by the Cult for not being a Paterno supporter.

I don't know much of a story this was nationally, but one of the candidates running for an alumni seat in the upcoming Penn St. Board of Trustees election is Jay Paterno. Nothing says well-adjusted, completely sane culture like the son of the dead football coach running for a seat on the school's Board of Trustees.

I trust that you all know how the vote to put a Paterno on the Penn St. Board of Trustees will turn out.

A few of my oldest friends of my oldest friends are alums. I was talking to one of them today, he's been 100% defending anything Paterno related for years and he defended this guy's comments, saying the story is "old and tired" before going off on his old Paterno rant (put the statue back, etc).

So I asked him what he thought about the Baylor situation, and he wants them to get an "SMU style" death penalty. I asked about the difference between the two, and he was shocked/offended I could even compare them. Had to change the subject before my head exploded. Cults are real.

I work with a lawyer who is one of the most liberal, SJW, persons you can meet who graduated there in 2012. But whenever I bring up the subject of this abomination of a school she becomes extremely defensive and almost uncontrollably angry at me. No surprise hazing goes that far at Penn State. My friend's roommate had to snort lines of salt and pepper and got so wasted on a combination of drugs and alcohol that he tried to jump through a plate-glass window from the tenth floor of a dorm building. ****er ran full speed into it and just bounced backwards off of it.
