I agree with triumph. It's not going anywhere, but it's gonna be in the ****ter. So will be the alum money. So the purse strings are tightening no matter what.

Besides, PSU is just massive and it probably doesn't rely on football money as much as you think.

Intrade has it at 90% that JoePa will resign by November 30th. I wonder what these markets would set as a fair line for Sandusky offing himself.

Pretty sure the money PSU gets from the Association of American Universities >> football money.

I'm sure they'll work out some kind of deal, unless joe doesn't want them to. Although a deal might look bad-ish

How has President Spanier not been canned? Pretty much been an idiot at every turn.

There's no way Penn State should fold their football program, the students, players, and community is innocent, this was a bunch of corrupt insiders covering up this mess, they should totally clean house of everyone involved and anyone who committed crimes be prosecuted.

Besides, this is going to basically destroy the program from a competitive standpoint for a long time, replacing an entire athletic department and coaching staff suddently, plus recruiting will go into the toilet.

It was reported earlier in the thread that the Board of Trustees voted to ask him to resign and he refused. (He also refused to step down like 5 years ago when Curley and Spanier asked him to step aside and he chased them out of his house)

Paterno don't like being told what to do, apparently.

lol, because in light of all this stuff that has happened, some other University is going to be like, "Hey, that doesn't seem so bad. We should probably try to sweep this here pedophile-scandal under the rug," right?

Ways I thought Joe Paterno's career would end

1. Death
2. Retirement
...
985,466. Struck by asteroid
985,467. Forced to resign amidst child rape scandal

This all makes the Michigan "scandal" of stretching for 20 extra minutes look pretty good.

also ESPN just reported a 9th victim has just come forward...
Yesterday he wasn't going to answer anything other than football questions. Now he's disappointed he can't. LOLOLPATERNO

I hope more victims come forward. Very brave of them. Kudos.

He doensn't deserve to resign. Of course, the Board should be firing lots of people and making huge donations to legit charities.

This. Dids, the assumptions we all made were the result of reading the grand jury document and understanding how much influence Paterno had. Your hypothetical was simply not a realistic scenario.

I still can't believe he's out on bail. I'd guess 90% Paterno doesn't coach this weekend (it's only Tuesday and it's now a full-blown avalanche heading downhill) and 40% Sandusky offs himself before the end of next year.

Clark-

Millen was super emotional. He defended the idea of the PSU football program, expressed grief at humanity as a whole and called for the firing of everyone from the president to Paterno to the assistant coaches.
