I have conferred with my team of experts and I have developed my own, personal posting guidelines. It is my aim to never deviate from these guidelines; go ahead and place your bets as to how long it lasts:

1. No post will be over 250 words.

2. No personal insults of any kind; I will ignore all slights against me (real or imagined).

3. I will not continue on with any argument or debate unless I am asked a direct question and it must be either express or implied that I am expected to respond.

4. I will not make consecutive posts in any thread.

5. I will interpret posts in a fashion most favorable to the poster: I will assume typos and other errors were not manifested by a deep-rooted desire to celebrate ignorance, but rather due to the importance of just stating a message in an informal setting.

6. I will assume that most of the posters here actually enjoy each other's company and it is not just a subversive pretext setting the stage for put-down contests and revelations of deep-rooted hatred of the other party.

These guidelines will go into effect immediately (after this post, of course). I am open to suggestions for further guidelines.

7. From this point on I will avoid divulging my personal posting mission statement to the rest of SE, irrespective of how superior I believe it is relative to the posting habits of others.

And I'm not sure I agree with the last part. If everyone involved in any small way is fired, the program sits a season out to work on developing a proper code of ethics and internal review procedures then they should be allowed to continue imo.

Finally, I'm not sure that it is just the football program that needs to be looked at here. Given that the issues appear to lie at heart with those who all team coaches would have been reporting to, it is probably reasonable to wonder about sports in general at PSU.

Idk, the thousands of boosters, millions of fans, and 85 scholarship players might be affected. Oh and the economic well-being of the university and athletic department which profits off football saturdays.
