I don't know how some of you have followed this so intently from Day 1. I've read most of the Grand Jury report and been in and out of the discussion because it's so relevant and top of mind to sports news, but can't stomach talking about it anymore.

I know some of you remarked about Jon Ritchie on ESPN this morning with Skip Bayliss. I just read that Ritchie said "My reality was that Jerry Sandusky was Mother Theresa."

Funny that no one decided to mention that. If they did and I missed it my bad.

Anyway, if no one did mention it here, I'm truly shocked. I guess it doesn't fit the script of "hang em all because everyone obviously knew."

I'm pretty sure South Park never stated anything about the abuse of ginger children, it was simply showing how Cartman is incredibly racist to everyone that is not like him. The part where he was able to get the gingers to act evily did show racism, but without it, it would have been a pretty lousy episode. I also think that they showed children doing it and not independent thinking adults doing it mitigates the racism to a degree. It was also supposed to be a play on those horror movies with the children and the eyes (The Shining I think)

For me it was a combo of Spanier's insane press release, the magnitude of the cover up, Paterno's press release, and just generally being interested in the psychology of these type situations that has held my attention.

According to sources who spoke to the Times, McQueary did not withhold details when he talked to Paterno the morning after the alleged incident.

In every spot the crowd roars for a big play, I'll just think about what young boy got groped or sodomized to get that big play.
