Yeah I thought about finding a picture of a 10 year old boy, but I really don't need that search term in google's huge file of all the stuff I've searched for.

I do think the must beat the guy up perhaps a bit too easy to type. Maybe I'd be really scared with what I saw and not sure what to do? Maybe I wouldn't confront immediately?

I would 911 immediately, though. No question about that. Beyond that I have no idea how I'd react in the situation.

I mean, I dont come across situations like this a lot, but I cant imagine turning a blind eye to it. The one time I've ever been in a situation where someone's life was in danger I got involved.

Yes, I realize that rape isnt the same as a life being endangered, but its pretty bad.

We are talking about a guy who was seen anally raping a 10 year old who is well known to have a foundation set up to work with other young boys. How the **** do you just file that away and go about your life? The guilt over not doing anything would tear me apart.

I mean immediately. It seems like a severe shortfall of morals, courage, or both if there is no immediate reaction to something like this.

Are you serious? Of course what they said was technically correct insofar as JoePa is unlikely to face any criminal charges. However, the fact that Paterno has allegedly known since at least 2002 that this was going on is a big story.

And he's saying the assistant could have gotten out clean years ago (and with a perhaps less-guilty conscience). But instead he's now working for Joe Paterno, whose name is being dragged through the mud of at least 1 child-rape case.

But you think his prospects are better now? Like, people wouldn't want to hire a guy who unearthed a child-rape scandal, but they would hire one who did sort of a half-assed job at reporting it to authorities? Seriously?

Besides, none of this **** should matter about this kid's job. You do what is right and you call the damn cops people. This isn't difficult. This isn't something that can be handled internally. There is literally nothing an A.D. can unilaterally do which brings a correct level of justice to the raper. Firing him doesn't cut it. He needs to be behind bars. Cops gotta be involved ASAP. If the kid gets fired oh well life sucks, then you die. Deal with it. At least you did the right thing and didn't let $$$$$$$$$ blind your vision ffs.

I'm kind of surprised the graduate assistant is so sure about what he saw. Like a firm recollection that he saw actual anal intercourse. I feel like the first thing I would do as soon as I caught a glimpse of something like that is avert my eyes. Then maybe yell "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

It's hard for me to say what I would do for sure in the moment. I have some ideas about what I THINK I would do, but do I really know for sure? There are many tales of combat where supposed tough guys became quivering piles of jelly, and some of the lowliest grunts perform acts of incredible bravery. Do you know with certainty how you will react until it happens?

I'm a lot more confident that I'd take further action when it had been a while and nothing at all was being done. With time to process the consequences of action and inaction.

There wasn't anything in the report about Sandusky approaching the graduate assistant afterwards and either bribing him or threatening him to keep his mouth shut. Did he (Sandusky) really just go about his business knowing that this graduate assistant could ruin his life at any time? Without even bothering to talk to the guy later and make up some crazy story explaining the shower scene? Could be some missing pieces to this. If they find some kind of hush money (not saying this is likely, but if), the graduate assistant becomes one of the most despicable characters in the whole scenario.

Plus, why the hell would the GA get fired for reporting a pedo to the police?

He also heard "slapping" sounds that sounded like noise from sex before he went to look at what it was.

I think Ikes, Triumph and others are right.

For the GA, this is probably his dream job. He was a QB at Penn State, he probably worked extremely hard since he was 14 to be a QB and eventually a coach at Penn State. As messed up as it may be, your first instinct when you see something that shocks you that much is to look out for yourself. If he physically confronts Sandusky in the shower, he is guilty of physical abuse against a 60 year old man and a legend of the program. Who knows if the kid will testify, and it becomes your word against his.

I'd like to say in the similar position that I would take action and either physically intervene on Sandusky or call the cops immediately, but it is impossible for everybody to armchair QB this one, and everybody's action would be different in McQueary's shoes.

If he's blackballed, it would be for not following the party line before the grand jury (i.e., that he had merely witnessed "something inappropriate" and not actual intercourse). Obviously I hope that doesn't happen.

I believe and always have believed PSU is overrated. they aren't that good. They haven't done much the past 15 years. They get out recruited by every SEC team, but I understand why you, as a football player would rather go to SEC than big. But still. PSU has been overrated the past 10 years by many.

oh and everyone should be fired or fined heavily. that **** is terrible.

My issue isn't with his initial reaction. It's with the fact that 9 years have passed, and he was still bringing kids around the program, and he never did anything.

Yeah, I mean it was probably obvious what was happening in context. Like if you hear a gunshot, run into a room, there's a guy standing there with a gun, and the other guy is bleeding, it's obvious what happened.

But actually SEEING the act? Seems like that image would only be there for a fraction of a second on my retinas. Maybe that's enough.

I also would think just the fact that I was there and the molester saw me would cause the activity to stop immediately, but apparently not (?!)

Hell, I'm just guessing, it's a situation so far removed from my experience that maybe it would go totally differently from what I'm picturing.
