sorry, JoePa.
We cannot get you legally. But, what you don't get, you don't get to retire on your terms. You shouldn't get the ride off to the sunset. You shouldn't get the last senior day and students (with their underdeveloped prefontal cortexes) chanting the good 'ol college rah rah stuff one more time. You forfeited that. Do your best in the time that remains, but your last 14 years are crap. Your legacy is crap. You're the ultimate model now of letting ego and achievement is some narrow field blind you to winning at life overall. Very sad. Now, go away.

Separate incident. Makes PSU look worse because they knew about the 1998 investigation when they covered up the 2002 incident.

BTW, many, many people now hinting that JoePa does no active coaching for Penn State. If true, go back and figure out who is really in charge on gameday and give them the wins. Take those wins away from JoePa. Give the honor back to Eddie Robinson.

I asked the Nebraska fan and he said it was none of the Cornhusker's business.
I will ask everybody, you are fanboi of Team X. Team X is playing at Penn State on Saturday. The starting quarterback says he won't play unless uncle JoePa, McQueary and the President of Penn State are fired. Do you support the quarterback?

Random thought I had. What are the chances a select group of players sit out Saturday's game in protest. Obviously there's 0% chance the whole team (or all starters) do this.

knew enough of the 1998 incident that they let the asst coach of the year in all of college football in 1999 'retire' at the age of 55.

That's the backdrop before 2002.

Yes, but the QB should be prepared for facing ramifications such as partial loss of scholarship and such.

Easy for me, though, since the school I support rarely wins. I'm not really sacrificing anything.

Does this look like a guy who is doing anything at all? No headset, not talking to anyone, not giving any indication the he knows what planet he's on.

College players don't think that way. They do what their coach tells them.

Maybe worry about the possibility of this happening (although it never will) in a few months/years after the rest of this abortion gets cleaned up?

I think it was Penn State's reputation for being such goody goodies that was one of the biggest reasons for all the idiots trying to ignore it or sweep it under the rug, they felt they had to protect the unsullied image of PSU. While it's certainly possible other big name football schools might have also had people who wanted to cover up, I think they'd be less likely too. I think PSU coaches and admins felt they had a lot more to lose with a scandal due to the public perception of how clean and wonderful the program was.

ESPN keeps showing scene after scene of him wandering the sidelines, interacting with no one, looking confused and bewildered.

Most coherent anatta post ever. You might be slipping.

Hope Paterno speaks in the next couple days. Don't really care what some PR firm they hired has to say.

That has been more than hinted at for more than a few years now.

And LOL at any players from PSU opponents sitting out in protest. There is like a .00000000001% chance of that happening.

there's a small, but growing movement in Nebraska to not show up for this week's game.

Getting a rep as an independent thinker is not something these athletes want if they have NFL careers aspirations. Since the party line is 'nothing to see here, game on as usual', I would be shocked if anyone decides to sit out in protest.

Isn't Nebraska still in the hunt to win their division? Hell I don't think their record even matters in this instance.

I have a feeling the University of Nebraska or the football program isn't a part of that movement.

I am sympathetic to the players. My suggestion is immediate clean sweep of coaching staff. Play the remaining schedule to honor the commitments to other schools. Decline all bowl bids.

Then eliminate the football program. Allow all players free transfers. Allow players who wish to stay for an education to keep their scholarships.

The cover up allowed the program to avoid consequences for 13 years. It might have avoided them forever. People who lack perspective on football needs to be shown that not reporting is a losing play in terms they will understand. Not eliminating the program makes the cover up look like it was a good gamble.
