Seems like the process is inconsistent. Sometimes the check the pressure with a gauge, and sometimes they don't.

Has this information actually been verified by the NFL? Only asking because I've only seen third-hand information with regards to the actual PSI readings.

Forgive my skepticism that it might not be done the same way without a reporter present and cameras rolling. If the officials prior to the AFCCG certified that they did that, then heads should roll. Either theirs or someone on the Patriots staff.

That seems most likely to me.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if this doesn't happen at least some of the time.

I don't think any information (outside of the fact that there is an investigation) has been verified by the NFL. Just "sources" thus far.

Unless Godgers was just bragging about getting caught by the refs with overinflated balls 100% of the time it's a lock that the inspection process is inconsistent at best

I'm saying at the beginning of the game they likely just do a visual inspection. Didn't they go in and check them at half-time? I haven't followed this too closely.

So now D'Qwell Jackson says he didn't notice anything different with the ball. That seemed to be consistently reported for the last couple of days.

I mean if they didnt check them at the beginning of the game, there's nothing there.

The problem for the Pats with the balls being deflated at halftime is that if Mort is accurate on the amount of pressure in the balls at halftime and they were measured to be at least 12.5 PSI before hand, they couldnt have naturally lost that much pressure.

If the refs didnt actually measure the balls before the game, there's nothing here. The balls can lose pressure in the weather and there's no way to know if they lost more pressure than is natural, they might have been underinflated to begin with. Pats responsibility under the rules is to get the balls approved and then not **** with them, not measure the PSI throughout the game. Like massive lol if the NFL hasnt squashed this and the 11 balls werent measured before the game, but I suspect they were.

Thats basically irrelevant at this point.

Balls were confirmed deflated and NE confirmed they were just wont say how they got like that.

Eh not really irrelevant. Its been something that has widely been reported since the story broke. If it turns out that it isnt true then do we just take for granted that everything else reported is true?

Imagine if this is something like Blount's carries causing the balls to get deflated.
