MyTurn strikes me as somebody who is very good at posting, but often those good posts are total crackpot/******edly biased.

I'd like to see a sublist of Texas fans that aren't me who post halfway decent, just to see if it gets beyond zero. (Actually I take that back but I wonder if it can get beyond one.)

Texas fans tend to be notoriously ******ed. No idea why it shakes down that way. My favorite thing I heard from a Texas fan (not on the forum) was that "Texas football had tradition, and Ohio State didn't have any". Ok, bud!

A lot of Ohio State fans are pretty dumb, too, but most of the ones on the forum are pretty realistic and good posters. I can't think of any horrible ones off the top of my head.

Yeah, then there's you, who's very reasonable w/ regards to most of the things that happen on the field but just have this insane chip on your shoulder about the UT program, living in Austin, etc., and should probably just see a marriage counselor or something rather than attempt to work it out through us.

There is nothing insane about it. Nothing to do with my wife being a Longhorn or anything- she cares about as little about sports as one can. Just a combination of a lot of things that tilt me- a high ratio of "know-it-allness" to actual knowledge, a very tunnel-vision-like view of college sports, a general lameness, and add in a touch of a superiority complex and a huge amount of whining. It might be that I'm in Austin and I tend to notice it more, but it seems common on here with 4th and dangeraw. I've seen it on other forums as well. Mack Brown IMO is everything wrong with college sports and someone I can't stand. The worship of Vince Young as a God is also quite amusing to me now that he's been such a miserable failure. Nothing irrational or insane about it at all.

Rockstar is a good poster imo and was just being homerish although fwiw FO thought the Eagles were a favorite vs. the Giants (Shocking I know).
Redsoxfan is really weird because at the beginning of the year he kept making fun of Vikings fans, than slowly switched to making fun of Brett Favre, which made his ******ation slightly more tolerable.

Vince had a fantastic collegiate career, went out a legend on the greatest stage, and fulfilled the dreams of a fanbase desperate for a return to the top. Hasn't had much of a go of it in the pros and is a dog to emerge as a quality NFL starter, but so be it. Takes away from nothing he's accomplished, you're just being queer. Just gameday experience lameness. I remember all these reports coming back of how rowdy it was at Ohio State. People used CURSE WORDS! People stood up and gave opposing fans hard times! Oh My! I expected there was actually a riot, or a beer can pegging someone in the face. Then I went to my first UT game. Everyone sits down and is quiet. They blast loud music since they fans can't make any noise. Just a really weak atmosphere. Fans are not enthusiastic one bit, except when they are on a title run. It's like they are too high and mighty to actually get into the game- that would be too "Aggie-like". It goes back to the whole A&M vs. Texas thing. You know which group you belong with. If you are passionate and a bit off-base, you go to A&M. If you are high and mighty and think you are better than that, you go to UT. Having hot chicks doesn't make you less lame, although it definitely is much better here than in Ohio, when you had to wait until after winter just to figure out if girls were fat or not.

Mack is just a slick politician, with the same annoying grin on his face no matter what. Did he play college football? I see no toughness out of him. Most likely he was a cheerleader if anything. He uses the media to try to make his case instead of doing it on the field. Just a huge baby and whiner. Then "we deserve the national title for sneaking out a win against Ohio State" lol. He totally babied Vince Young and is part of the reason why Vince is on suicide watch. I just can't stand the guy.

The thing is, Vince got too much credit. I said it all year- Texas had an amazing defense that season. Vince tried to give away a lot of games, and the defense kept them around. Eventually Vince gets hot and makes a big play and gets all the credit. Look at the USC game. Everyone gives Vince the credit. Did he make the 4th down stop? The guy was the definition of variance. He could make a great play or he could make an awful INT and look like ass. Look at the Ohio State game. The story was "Vince won the game". Bull**** I say, Vince tried to give that one away, was bailed out by the defense a ton of times, then finally made a good drive at the end. How many INTs and fumbles did he give the ball to Ohio State. Texas's defense held Ohio State on a short field to FGs, and that is what kept them in the game. He had 2 INTs, and 1 fumble (recoverd by Vince). 3 turnovers deep in their own territory that led to only 9 points. That's defense. Vince had some great abilities to destroy horrible defenses, but was the most overrated player in the history of college sports (even over Jesus himself). The guy is dumb as a rock and emotionally as fragile as a 12 year old girl with braces and too many freckles. I do have more respect for Bellisari than him, just because Bellisari isn't a pussy. Krenzel, now that's clutch.

I don't want to hijack this thread any more than it's already been jacked, so, in closing, yes on football crowds in Texas, no you're off-base on Mack, loooooool there goes that 'reasonable on the field analysis' tag re: Vince, and I guess we can start a new thread on these very topics but I can't imagine they're very interesting to 'poasters' (I don't even like that) at-large.
