OK, Time to Nuke Baylor (aka Art Briles is a scumbag) - Sporting Events and Fantasy Sports

Bad enough that these clowns had known rapists out on the field for years. Now we learn that they SILENCED RAPE VICTIMS BY THREATENING TO TELL THEIR PARENTS OR EXPEL THEM FOR DRINKING.

Oh, they also punished people who reported other people getting raped.

She told Baylor officials her drinking was a result of being raped a month earlier and detailed what happened in person and in a letter.

She received an alcohol code violation and told to do 25 hours community service, and when she tried to appeal, the woman said Baylor officials urged her to drop it. The school never pursued her rape claim.

“I was told by many Baylor staff that they couldn’t do anything for me because my assault was off campus, yet they had no problem punishing me for my off-campus drinking,” the woman said.

If anyone didn't see this. This was Art Briles' daughter after her father had been fired. She calls it a "media witch hunt" and it has been "blown out of proportion"

The way her dad was treated was the "most disgusting thing she's ever seen"

Just make it criminal for institutional officials to knowingly not report a credible rape accusation to the police.

Universities are like smaller versions of the Catholic church. They try to handle everything in house to avoid bad press and because they think they know better about most everything than the unwashed masses do.

The US has a stupid problem with alcohol. It's just ****ing absurd that 18 year olds can't drink, and the prohibition just contributes to bad behavior.

Part of the problem is universities receiving federal funding (ie most of them) have been explicitly told to handle sexual harassments in house as part of Title IX, else they'll risk having funds. Somewhere along the lines rape = sexual harassment happened, and here we are.

Also, I'm unsure it's ethical to report a crime on someone else's behalf if they explicitly don't want to themselves. By and large, these are adults.
