I am shocked that this thread isn't 1,000 posts long already. Perhaps people were waiting to binge watch after Part 2 aired?

Fascinating so far, especially some of the backstory that I never knew about:

1) O.J. was married for the first time while in college.

2) O.J.'s father was at least suspected of being homosexual.

3) Marcus Allen and Nicole?

4) The young girl who was murdered around the time of the Rodney King beating trial.

Yep I like to wait until all of the episodes come out. Looks like ESPN made all five episodes available.

OJ fatigue after the FX miniseries, and other piggybackers, probably has something to do with it

3) Marcus Allen and Nicole?
whether a rumour or true, feel like this has been very "known" for a long time

I think Allen has talked about the Nicole thing even. Believe he was questioned by police.

It's been known for awhile.

Half watching at the time so maybe I missed this, but it sounded like one of Nicole's beatings took place because she let their kid watch two gay guys kissing. Yeesh.

Just an observation on why this isn't as big of a special. Keep in mind it started airing during the stanley cup and NBA finals, so certainly there was a lot to overshadow it. Then also just some OJ fatigue since you had the FX special.

Appointment television mostly dead if it isn't actual sports as well. The entirety is 9 hours long so you have to be pretty into the whole thing to want to see it all as well.

It would have been a nice companion piece to the FX series. Glad I could finish it On Demand. Watching 2 hour eps with commercials was just brutal.

Story is being well-told but at times in excruciatingly boring detail. Only new revelation so far seems to be that OJ was known to cheat so much at golf that his group hired a caddy to stalk him and keep him honest.

But the series does set a backdrop of the times in LA that gives the story some perspective that I had not really considered.

Most surprising thing to me, in first episode , was how gracious OJ was when he broke the NFL rushing record by insisting all the linebackers get credit for his achievement. No wonder he was so revered by the public and press back then.

Complete opposite of Cristiano Ronaldo in today's world.

I saw part 1 last night. It was a little boring but I'm sure it provided a good backdrop for what is to come. OJ not having the appetite for progressing civil rights in the way that other athletes did had always been known.

Going from LA to Buffalo must've sucked for OJ.

Why did Nicole's boyfriend not testify that Juice was stalking them while they were getting romantic? That's the first I've heard of it and it seems like a pretty big thing.

he testified in the preliminary hearing (no idea why he wasn't part of the trial), and it wouldn't have made a difference to this jury

Goes to show we sometimes have to take everything with a grain of salt. Sure OJ was gracious and humble there but he also brutally murdered 2 people.

Listening to Dan Patrick yesterday and he was interviewing OJ after he was aquitted but only football related questions. Camera guy is changing tapes and OJ and him have this conversation

OJ - "So do you think I did it?"
DP - "Did what?"
OJ - "Kill those people."
DP - "Yes."

I have recorded the first 2 episodes but can't find time for 1 1/2 hours each.

In part 2 when the cops show up on NYE at OJ's and are going to arrest him but he just dips in his Bentley, why was there no follow up to that? My guess is Nicole recanted on wanting him arrested and wouldn't press charges so they didn't bother with pursuing him but the doc should've tied up that loose end considering it is 8hrs long.

edit: ok they get back to it like 20 mins later.

That cop must have felt like the biggest idiot of all time

"Sir, you're under arrest. Please go change into some clothes so we can go to jail."

"Sure, I keep my clothes in my car. Be right back"

Yeah, diner, that footage of the convenience store shooting is the stuff of nightmares. Like that famous film of the point-blank shooting in the Vietnam war. That other shooting that was chronicled but not on video, of that lady wielding a knife, upset about having her gas shut-off, was just another instance of maybe non-proportionality that layered the atmosphere of outrage. Provides real insight into the perspective of the black community

"You weren't worried about the kids when you were sucking-off so-and-so on the couch!"

That lil anecdote, that OJ was literally watching his estranged wife service another man, peeping through a window, I guess, is amazing.

No question, OJ killed Nicole and Ron Goldman
