Sens could be better next season, but still miss the playoffs

no meaningful UFAs, just a bunch of deadwood to clear out
some smart additions could make them hard to deal with

and they have some young players who could step in and make an impact
- Thomas Chabot could instantly be one of the best young dmen in the game
- Colin White could be a solid depth center right away
- and Nick Paul could be a useful depth winger

bouncing back from these kind of runs can be tricky though

Potential to be a depth player is not "making an impact". The earlier post saying Ottawa took their swing this year was absolutely correct, and they are likely dogs to make the playoffs next year.

it can be when they're replacing sub-replacement level trash like Neil, Kelly, Pyatt, etc

the Sens depth was just awful, so if those players can be improved on it'll make an impact

Man it was just impossible for Phaneuf and Methot to find an outlet pass. Guess no confidence even to look for one, just propel it out of zone. Karlsson was great at it again. Ceci was somewhere in between, actually pretty good I thought.

I'm a Habs fan and I'm dying for Nashville to win the cup now. It will highlight how hilariously, absurdly bad the Weber-Subban trade was. It was obvious the trade was terrible immediately to anyone with half a brain but the morons could fig leaf it with "WIN NOW MODE". Kind of hard to sell "win now" when Nashville is winning and you aren't.
