Yeah, I thought the exact same thing when he came out last year saying how much he regretted giving Richards a second chance. He let his emotions compromise his ability to make a smart business decision and he should assume 100% of the blame. Trashing Richards in order to deflect criticism was gross and uncharacteristic of a guy who's been in the game as long as Lombardi has.

Some competency at the GM and head coaching positions. Also, Buffalo has some legitimate NHL players on the backend already in Jorges, Bogosian, and Franson along with a talented young guy in Ristolainen. Tim Murray also knows a thing or two about drafting so they'll likely end up hitting on at least a few 4th or 5th rounders to give them some cheap depth, something Edmonton was never able to do under Lowe/Tambellini/MacT.
