Thursday and Saturday are big days for the NHL

probably not the worst idea to take Fridays off for the most part, i assume the research shows that people go out and do stuff rather than sitting around watching hockey on Fridays

Is Pierre trying to say that Colorado will be amazing or something this year?

Fancy stats radio!

Quote:
TORONTO (October 10, 2014) – TSN today announced the debut of TSN HOCKEY ANALYTICS, a new TSN Radio show dedicated to the exploration of advanced stats in hockey. The weekly show merges the worlds of “traditional” hockey coverage and hockey analytics in order to provide a 360-degree view of teams, players, and storylines from around the league.
Quote:
The first weekly hockey analytics program in North America, TSN HOCKEY ANALYTICS is hosted by Andy McNamara and features regular appearances by a wide range of guests from the TSN Hockey team, including analyst Jamie McLennan, popular hockey analytics writer Travis Yost, TSN’s resident stats guru Scott Cullen, and Globe and Mail hockey writer James Mirtle. The show presents a larger picture of the power of hockey analytics by looking at multiple game trends in an entertaining style that is both accessible to the casual hockey fan, but also comprehensive enough for the dedicated analytics enthusiast.

Radio is an interesting choice for fancy stats. There's a reason it got big on blogs and not podcasts. Charts aren't very exciting when they're read to you.

Is the Fenwick/Corsi tab for individual games on nicetimeonice broken for anyone else?

If so, what is the next best option to look at individual game data?

Sort of FYP....real answer is:

John Tavares is the 6th-10th best player in hockey. Where he lands in that spot...

You put Tavares with elite talent and that guy gets 100 points imo

He's gonna get close to 100 pts this year regardless....he was at 66pts last season w/like 60 games played before he got hurt. Okposo is solid, not sure if I like Conacher on the same line with JT though.

I'm going to be paying a little more attention to them this season then I have in the past just because out of the local teams they to me have the most upside and interested to see how the pan out this season...prob will hit up a game in Nassau when the Devils are in town in Nov.

prospect update!:

- McDavid had another 2g/2a night through about 2 periods, think i heard it was his 3rd straight 2/2 game, now has 16pts in 5gp
- Eichel had 2g/2a himself in his 1st college game

World Juniors should be fun this year, and with TSN losing the NHL they have nothing else to do between now and then really, fire up the hype machine and set it to high!

Ya, McDavid is looking pretty good right now.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get 150 points in junior this year.

I once told Gabe Desjardins he was the Bill James of hockey and he said that claim clearly belonged to Vic Ferrari. Long overdue hire.
