seriously no idea what he'll sign for*, but he's the kind of guy who likely has the ability to get way overpaid based on:
- being 27yo
- having good physical tools
- having the ability to play center
- going on a heater in a UFA contract year
i'd be scared to give him more than like $2.5m/year, but could easily see him getting offers in the 3-3.5 range. the Canucks won't have much wiggle room with a $69m cap, i'd really hate to see them blow it all on him, hoping he could reproduce this season.
(and especially considering his weak possession numbers)
really seems like the perfect guy to sell high on now, but they almost certainly won't. if they even realize how much of a good idea it is, i doubt they wanna try to explain it to the players and fans.
* - would have to do some research on comps, anyone else wanna take a shot at it?

yeah, UFA in 2016
guess the failsafe is they could just trade him next year and probably get a similar return, if they can't get him signed long-term
