CHL is a joke, players should at least be making some sort of stipend

While I assume London is crooked, Roslovic also signed an NHL contract and so he receives his signing bonus - that's $92,500, which adjusted for escrow is something like $73,000. In addition, in junior a player gets used to a pro schedule and doesn't have to waste his time with a bunch of book-learnin'.

The more I look, the better the Brassard trade looks for the Rangers..

(my meaningless feedback just to follow this thread)

yeah, maybe im missing something evaluating, but seems very lopsided. Imo there's a decent chance Zibanejad is going to be straight up better going forward, besides costing less, being way younger and getting a 2nd rounder on top

That was my immediate reaction. Just couldn't understand it.

Kreider 4 years 18.5M, good deal for a guy who has all the tools to still develop into a monster. Bought out first two years of his UFA.

Zib will be an RFA after this year and I think the Rangers will either do the bridge deal of 2 for 7M or they will do a 5-6 year deal at 5.5M. So he won't be cheap forever but at his age he will be a better player going forward than Brassard. I like the deal for the Rangers too, anytime we can get younger faster bigger and stronger AND a 2nd round draft pick I'll take it. Although we will definitely be flipping that 2nd round pick in a trade to someone.

And now Hayes gets a two year bridge deal. Great week for the Rangers.

lol Tragically Hip tickets in Edmonton and Calgary are now $15 on stub hub. If you guys have friends and family down there, let'm know. That's so amazing. Scalpers bought up literally all the tickets and now can't sell'm.

Brassard used to play for Boucher in juniors. Seems like one of those trades where Boucher wants to get one of "his guys". Maybe they didn't like Zibanejad, for whatever reason.

Wouldn't be the first time Ottawa did something like that. Paul Maclean had a relative in the Phx organizing who was big on Turris.

LOiLers apparently gonna name McBust CAPTAIN

guess he learned enough in 45 games to be able to do whatever it is a cappy does (oh wait, it's nothing!)

would be really funny if clearing that road was a consideration in that horrendous Hall deal

... and who exactly would you name as Captain? The team is not exactly brimming with candidates. Lucic and Ference would be the only 2 with any type of leadership qualities and Lucic is not captaining an NHL team ever and Ference might not be playing enough pretty soon so who? McJesus is the defacto leader regardless so might as well make it official now, it was going to happen anyway.

Tell me more of your highly objective views, starting with how McDavid is a bust.

Ryan Miller gonna be traded before the deadline? I hadn't realized he was a UFA after this one. Also forgot he was already 36. Who outside of the Flyers would take him?

Flyers are the last team who would take him, its not 2011 bud

Bad news, they traded the bag of pucks for a deflated basketball that is purported to be good in the room.

You don't think if the Flyers were in 8th to 5th or something they might? I honestly don't know, just asking. Seems low risk.

Mason has Been pretty good with the Flyers. Not sure if their backup needs upgrading but they can probably do that chaper than at Miller's salary.

Flyers have a) Mason who is 28 and his full seasons as Flyer he's had .917, .928 and .918 sv pct and b) Neuvirth who is 28 and is coming off a .924 season. Why would they go for Miller?
