Actually, the problem is the Kings have nothing of value to spare. Any trade just leaves a different hole.
As opposed to a certain Canadian West coast team that has literally nothing of value.

yeah who would ever want 21yo Bo Horvat, or 19yo Jake Virtanen, or 23yo Sven Baertschi, or 26yo Chris Tanev, or 22yo Ben Hutton, or 26yo Jakob Markstrom, or 19yo Brock Boeser, or 20yo Thatcher Demko, or 18yo Olli Juolevi, or a top-5 pick in 2017, etc? i'm sure the Jets would very much prefer some 34yo piece of **** making $7m/year until 2089 amirite

but obv Trouba ain't going to either of those 2 teams
(though it would have been fun to try if the donks in power didn't make that moranic Badbranson deal)

I don't think he wants out of Winnipeg specifically, he just wants to play on the right.

seems like he's using the situation as an excuse to get out of Winnipeg

i'd probably sell high on Buff and try to keep Trouba

Rough day at Ottawa Senators FanFest today.

MacArthur played only four games last season, missed the rest because of complications from a concussion. Shouldn't have even played those four games, because he wasn't fully recovered from a previous concussion.

Oilers fans very very weird, lots of talk about how to structure a deal where Oilers give up Nurse+ for Trouba, and people saying it's an overpayment because Nurse doesn't need to be protected in expansion. It's one of the silliest things I've ever heard.

Bobby Mac:

Brad Marchand's extension with BOS is done. Should be an 8-year deal at slightly more than $6M AAV.

There's an interesting take on Trouba in the Winnipeg Free Press by Paul Wiecek, it says because Trouba went public, the Jets can't trade him and have to sit him like Drouin.

Also, Trouba's agent made him look like an ass by making a contradictory release to the interview he gave earlier this month.

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/spo...394737051.html

His advice, I agree, change your agent.

The AAV is ok, but the term is awfully risky. Marchand is already 28 - he's going to be pretty bad by the end of that contract I would imagine.

Eh I think there's a decent chance he's still a middle sixer then. And the cap will rise. Obviously not a favourite but not a huge dog either.

Plus, given that he's probably worth about 8 million right now, I think he'll be worth the money over the entirety of the contract.

Gaborik out 8 weeks with a broken foot, so much for that Trouba deal...

given that he's currently without a contract and asking for $7m/year or whatever, i think he'll be sitting in a different way than Drouin if the Jets want to play tough guy for no reason here and submarine their season before it's started, so gl with that

so apparently the preseason has started
and there's a game going on right now!
*shrug*

regional Canucks broadcast not showing the game tonight, pretty sure they aired every preseason game last season ... hopefully that speaks to the level of interest in this ****show

Preseason hockey is garbage, but it's even worse when you have pieces of **** like Andrew Shaw out there running people. Gets mad that Beagle accidentally runs into him at the blue line then he goes headhunting and boards the **** out of Hobbs for whatever reason. Then starts fighting the smallest player on the ice and hams it up for the crowd. A gutless turd. The Montreal faithful should love him.

I can't wait for Therrien to pull a Semin on Radulov. If Radulov isn't scoring at a goal a game pace within 5 games they'll cut his ice time down to nothing (lousy no grit euros!), ask him to take on a more defensive role and then when he does that with good possession numbers cut him because he isn't scoring enough.

I hate Therrien so much.

Pretty much what he did with Daniel Briere in 2013-14.
