Buffalo was drawing 18.6k/game this year, really?

Arizona, Carolina & Florida in the danger zone
pro tip: don't name your team after a state/area

Just move one of those crappy southern climate teams to Quebec City with their new Videotron Centre already.

Florida will be good next year, it will be interesting to see if they have better attendance then. They also stopped giving away their tickets for free.

There is literally nothing Florida could do to get good attendance.
The Miami Heat never had great attendance.
The Marlins/Devil Rays have never had good attendance.
Lol Jags, lol dolphins, lol bucs. There were six teams to not sell over 90% of their tickets last year, three of them were from the state of Florida.

So, if they won't show up for championship runs by baseball/basketball teams, you think Hockey ever has a chance?

Just a state that should be nuked, or cut off and float to beside Cuba

Someone please explain to me the math of how the draft lottery works out:

04-13-2015 , 12:11 PM
what do you mean by the math?
NHL Off Season Thread 2015: Sponsored By Canada Quote
04-13-2015 , 12:40 PM
It doesn't really make sense, but I figured it out:

There are 14 balls, and they choose 4. The number of unique combinations of 4 things drawn from a set of 14 things is.....1001. (MATH: C(n,r) = n! / ( r!(n - r)! ) where n=14, r=4).

Anyway, then they look up that drawn combination in a big ol' list that says which one of the 1000 possible draws that corresponds to. If the 1001st combination is drawn they redraw.

----

What is most annoying is the NHL doesn't show the lottery live. They just show the results. #notransparency

The lottery live is boring and probably could be rigged anyway. There is no reason to rig the draft lottery.

I heard they will show it live this year, next saturday in the first intermission or so

i mean, if you really believe that teams would tank their ****ing asses off, then sign off on a lottery system that they weren't convinced was fair, then i don't really know what to tell you. just strap on the tinfoil hat and go nuts.

i trust the competitiveness these people more than anything, and i highly, highly, HIGHLY doubt they're gonna agree to rog superstars to a team not of their own for [lol reasons]. but if the TML are prepared to let Arizona have McDavid because, boy they really need it, then well played i guess.

If you are talking about the process of picking the team, it's done exactly like the NBA.

a) I don't think it's rigged
b) I don't see why it can't be done live
c) If it is rigged, teams do not sign off on it as you point out
d) All of the above

no point, and it might be too complicated / time consuming to do live

what i mean is i'm guessing that they've signed off on a process that they are absolutely convinced is fair and above board, not rigged

like executives from every lottery team (probably extending all the way to the ownership level in a lot of cases) have probably spent countless hours going over all aspects of the process, etc

no point in continuing this since you apparently agree that it's not rigged

I didn't know that since don't follow any other american sports besides the nhl.
So basically putting a team t here was a failure in the first place?
