I think he's a good dynasty pick as well. Ovechkin so far has proven himself to be a durable player despite his hard hitting/aggressive style. Yes he may not always be the first person on the back check but there are also other players on the ice for that. The defense you get out of him is, as described before, out possessing the other team. The goal scoring and play making you get from him is the best in the league. His point production and durability are on par or better than many players who have played at/around/or later than age 38.
Some examples:

Brett Hull played until he was 40
Joe Sakic had a good year at age 38 but played until 40
Steve Yzerman retired after a season at 41
Ray Bourque retired after a great season and Cup victory at age 41
Mike Madono had a good year at age 40, retired at 41
Brendan Shanahan had a good year at 39 played a season at 40
Mats Sundin had a good year at 37 played until he was 38
Mark Messier retired at age 43 after a 43 pt season over 76 games, had 40 pts over 78 games the year previous to that.

I'm leaving out the W. Gretzky for obv reasons and because I'm still not sure if he was human or not(but thank the good lord for his daughter Paulina). I understand most of these players are some of the greats of all time but so far Ovechkin's production and durability matches or exceeds most of these players.

Anyone wanna bet over/under on Bravos getting his pick in before his 5:51 deadline? Can bet draft positions in one of the later rounds. No betting with someone who has the means to text him or whatever.

Eh...Ovie's '07-'08 season was unreal, but I can think of at least one other guy who was Mr. Everything for his team that year and probably deserved just as good of a long, hard look, even if he didn't score 65 goals.

Of all the people who were considering taking Messier, I legitimately can't believe it's you.

Heartbroken, T. Heartbroken and disappointed.

(seriously though, that'd be the greatest troll job ever)

A draft without at least 3 posts mentioning undrafted's is considered a dull affair

If bravos is skipped I say we move him to the end of the 1st round. If he doesn't post before the end of the 1st round/acknowledge that the draft has started then he's removed.

I'll add Vagos to the draft order now. (Or he can co-own with me/anyone else that is willing)

Malkin had a great year picking up the slack for Crosby, but I never thought I'd see you carrying the water for a selfish Russian center.

I know naming undrafteds is going to happen, everyone, and I bet I will be guilty before the draft's up.

Nope, he was so much better than everyone else in the league that you'd have to do some true semantic backflips to even consider anyone else

Vagos, you're welcome to join at the end of the round or co-own with Holdem, whichever you prefer

ok, screw it

alright maybe a slight reach based on the recency bias of Bill Brasky-esque tales of WIM, but if i'm gonna be able to compete with the top teams in the league, i'm gonna need a pivot who can battle the best of the best, and come out ahead a lot. and i'm not sure that there will be one waiting for me in the 2nd round. so without further adieu...

Spoiler:
he's a warrior, he's a champion, you know him, you love him, some people call him a space cowboy, whereas others call him Patrice. maybe i won't get 10 good years out of him, but so what? i'll be happy with say 8.

C - Patrice Bergeron

2004 World Championships - GOLD
2005 World Junior Championships - GOLD
2010 Winter Olympics - GOLD
2011 Stanley Cup - CHAMPION
2012 Spengler Cup - GOLD

he's bigger than you might think, and seems like a total pain in the ass to go up against. he's also like really CLUTCH and stuff. and now he's the backbone of my team. COME AT HIM!!! i dare you.
