Dude he was your first rounder this past draft, the second D off the board after Juolevi. After him went Bean and McAvoy. Many he thought he could be the best D in the draft.

Certainly the trade is pretty fair. Sergachev is plus size, plus (elite?) skating, great puck mover. Dude shoots hard, plays all situations. I certainly wanted him on the Bruins in the draft.

It's possible that Drouin's demanding a trade and refusing to report for a minor league assignment was a factor. That was only a year and a half ago, and I'm sure there's still some resentment there.

Sergachev is definitely a legit prospect too. I know that everyone thinks Drouin's about to explode for a 70 pt+ season, but there's no guarantee.

Yeah that is indeed why I pointed out the trades. We'll see several more too. But once that's done, I think you could lock up 22 teams in terms of knowing who is gonna be drafted. Maybe more.

So who for sure has already said they aren't gonna protect via 7-3-1? I know the Ducks must be a lock to 8-1

I know a lot of GMs have already come out and said 7-3-1 (Wangz and Flyers most recently)

Preds too. They gotta protect PK, Josi, ekholm, Ellis. And then Forsberg, Johansen, arvidsson. Will leave Neal or Jarnkrok exposed.

For the Jets it depends if Enstrom waives his no-trade.

7-3-1 would leave Myers or Enstrom unprotected, along with Marko Dano.

8-1 makes Perreault or Lowry available.

Kinda sucks either way, but maybe they can ink a long term deal with Trouba conditional on if they lose Myers.

Blue Jackets trade the 24th overall pick to the Golden Knights. Most likely to protect a specific player or players, won't be announced till the expansion draft.

and here i just assumed that they were playing hardball on getting Raanta for like a 3rd instead of a 2nd
will be amazing if they gave up significant assets for 35yo LolSmith & his $5.67m/year contract

based on this decision making & negotiating i guess they're moving to Seattle after all
