Traded to Atlanta by Boston with Mark Stuart for Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik
amazing that they could have

Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin
Pastrnak - Krejci - Wheeler
plus 3 of Barzal / Connor / Chabot / Eriksson-Ek / White / Boeser / Konecny
to go with Rask, Krug, Chara, McAvoy, Carlo, etc

if they weren't total donks

Radulov was another guy i thought would be 4th or 5th tier at least based on last season

No Kessel either... but have Geuntz, Hornquist and Sheary on the list. Haha sure.

2nd tier Malkin is good for lols too.

There must be some flaw in Doms game score to not have Kessel, Kuzy and Radulov ahead of a ton of players on that list based on last year alone. I bet they all suffer on the same not well thought out metric... or maybe he has been able to somehow quantify the lazy and the petulant.

Having 1 bad season in the last 3 or being hit with age regression are the likely culprits. Kessel's shot volume/corsi numbers this year kept him off that list IIRC from his tweets. Radulov JUST missed the cut and kuznetsov likely the same. Both at .7ish GS regressed.

How about a version of What Lodden Thinks?

Lodden can be the game master.

The question is an opinion or something you can rank, who is the best goalie of the last five years, or which centre has the most assists?

Lodden ranks some number of answers and the player's answer scores based on the rank.

Player A chooses Holtby
Player B chooses Bobrovsky

Lodden thinks:
Price
Holtby
Quick
Rinne
Lundquist

Player A scores 2
Player B scores 10

--------
Or Family Feud like the Pokercast wants to try.

Come up with the questions, answers have to be in before the question is submitted, then off to the pollster.

You could do two or three questions at a time over a period of a couple of days, or submit the answers all at once and let the polls run everyday for a few weeks.

or All-Star team sheep. Or better, who Las Vegas should have drafted sheep.

most interesting bit of hockey news i saw recently has come via the NBA, odd as that is. so the Houston Rockets are being sold, which could open the city to the NHL, if the new owner is supportive. i guess the old owner decidedly wasn't, and blocked the NHL from his building.

http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2017/07/21/...ey-in-houston/

possibly related: the guy who is supposedly buying the 'Canes is a former executive of the Texas Rangers of MLB. think just moving that team from Raleigh to Houston would probably double their value.

and then Seattle gets an expansion team if they can get a new rink built.

=32 team league and no one has to move from east to west, everyone wins. except Raleigh. and Quebec City. and anyone else who wants a team, until someone else, like Arizona, has finally had enough.

Detroit is trying to have one of the worst offseasons in recent history. They are currently $3M over the cap and have about 10 unmovable players/contracts.

What a ****ing joke this has become.

Breaking news - in the salary cap era giving out generous loyalty contracts to declining veterans is a bad idea. Who knew?

Rangers 5x$5.35 for Zibanejad, buys some UFA years. Pretty good deal for both sides.

We still can't afford to buy out lol Staal, so our D sucks but whatevs. If our team doesn't work out and we can't get a #1C and improve our D in a couple of years, trade away Hank to a contender so he can get his ring please.

Don't think I've heard a term more used this week than "bought some UFA years".

The Jets signed Hellebuyck 1 x 2.25.

There's contract info on the NHL website. See the bottom of this page.

https://www.nhl.com/jets/team/playertracker

There's a page for Chicago, Nashville. Dallas has no dollars, Oilers have no dollars, also Carolina.

the worst part will definitely be when they pick "name" players like Max Talbot over the guys who are still productive hockey players

rumour that Iggy & Doan might play in that too, but not sure if i believe it

hopefully some other guys will sign in Europe so that they're eligible as well
(and/or the NHL lets AHLers go)

definitely
but like with Klein, i just couldn't remember if he is Canadian or not

loads of other guys still unsigned and could conceivably end up in Europe (hopefully)

Quote:
Laich - Fisher - Doan
Winnik - Ribeiro - Iginla
King - J.Mitchell - Purcell
R.White - Fiddler - Parenteau
Upshall - Gordon - Chiasson
Howdon - Desjardins - Caron

Beauchemin - Franson
Despres - Wideman
Cowen - N.Schultz
Gelinas - Kostka
Gormley - Bartley
Pardy - Thrower
all Canadian UFAs

a lot of them will still sign in the NHL, but a lot of them won't

and players waived by the time of the Olympics will be allowed to play?
could well be some ****ery there later on if so
i mean these GOOD HOCKEY MEN are nothing if not proud

Montreal's entire "plan" boils down to: we're going to take a bunch of shots at Price being healthy and super hot in the playoffs and steal us a cup. The rest is just window dressing.
