i'd hold out for the max if i were him, currently $15M
(Edmonton tax + Canadian taxes tax + Chiapet is a donk tax, etc)

i guess if he signed for like $14.5M/year and then the cap dropped to like $70M, his salary would be lowered to the max of $14M right? don't imagine they'd let you make more than the max

i would be careful

very much possible he's done being an elite player

he's probably still worth ~$6M/year, but with all old players, i'd try to get some of that as performance bonuses

of course it'd be fun if he played at a bargain for a contender like the Pens or Preds

don't think that trade would do much for the Avs really

Hamonic is fine, but he's older than Duchene, and wouldn't move the needle for such a bad team

if the plan would be to flip him to the Flames for what the Islanders did, then woop woop you're looking at being literally the WOAT for the next 3 years at least

they likely want NHL-ready players who are younger than Duchene, and probably should

Scandella and Pominville and a 4th to Buffalo for Ennis, Foligno, and a 3rd.

Seems like a terrible trade for the Wild.

Wild should have just let Vegas take Scandella if they were just going to trade him for scrubs.

Bruins bought out Hayes. Not soo suprising, but I thought they would give him another chacne to recover from shooting 2.7%

ya i guess they needed they needed the space to re-sign Granlund & Niederreiter after they both basically had career years, but somewhat of a steep price to pay, especially considering Ennis' contract

pretty great trade for the Sabres, Scandella is decent, and Pominville is actually still a good 2nd line winger, while Ennis & Foligno are kinda bad, and it only cost them like $5M in cap space
