Flower better get into FULL YOLO mode, or he's gonna have a real bad time
Laffs after Nate Schmidt apparently
??? in on Miller (his name has been tossed around a lot)
might as well go allin on the bad and move McNabb as well, and then give Alzner $5M/year lol

Wasn't he also a super reach that high in the draft? IIRC the 2010 1st round had pretty decent talent. Seems he got super lucky to go that high and otherwise he'd have like half the career earnings he has now. Mbn.

probably

but as i don't recall having any thoughts about him at the time, i decided to go take a look at what was said after i realized that this was the McIlrath draft, and remember there being chatter

Wrane's completely arbitrary draft predictions for ****s and giggles - following the mantra of drafting BPA.

Edmonton Oilers - Taylor Hall
Boston Bruins- Tyler Seguin
Florida Panthers - Cam Fowler
Columbus Blue Jackets - Brandon Gormley
New York Islanders - Ryan Johansen
Tampa Bay Lightning - Brett Connolly
Carolina Hurricanes - Erik Gudbranson
Atlanta Thrashers - Nino Niederreiter
Minnesota Wild - Austin Watson
New York Rangers - Vladimir Tarasenko
Dallas Stars - Alexander Burmistrov
Anaheim Ducks - Derek Forbort
Phoenix Coyotes - John MacFarland
St. Louis Blues - Mikael Gradlund
Boston Bruins - Emerson Etem
Ottawa Senators - Mark Pysyk
Colorado Avalanche - Quinton Howden
Nashville Predators - Evgeny Kuznetsov
Los Angeles Kings - Riley Sheahan
Pittsburgh Penguins - Jeff Skinner
Detroit Red Wings - Tyler Pitlick
Phoenix Coyotes - Jarred Tinordi
Buffalo Sabres - Jaden Shwartz
Atlanta Thrashers - Alex Petrovic
Vancouver Canucks - Dylan Mcllrath
Washington Capitals - Brock Nelson
Montreal Canadiens - Ludvig Rensfeldt
San Jose Sharks - Calle Jarnkrok
Anaheim Ducks - Jon Merrill
Chicago Blackhawks - Ryan Spooner

I'm not going to lie, by the time I hit Pittsburgh I didn't know any of them well enough and just started to cross-reference from different mock drafts. That said, in a couple of years look out for Kirill Kabanov (ranked #38) and Teemu Pulkkinen (#50). I've seen them play once a couple years ago and they caught my eye and I'm sticking to them. Plus I've read some good things - which is enough for a crapshoot anyways.

lol @ the Canucks taking Mcllrath tho

Kabanov is obviously the most intriguing player at the draft. A top 5 talent that will likely fall out of the first round due to being one of the biggest primadonnas anybody has ever seen at that age. I wouldn't be surprised if a team with a lot of picks in the first two rounds takes a chance on him though, like Boston.
correct on Skinner anyway

also bingo, kind of a drop after Taylor/Tyler
(though Johansen is pretty good)

lol

Dave Tippett throws a hissyfit and quits

like he was apparently totally kool with buying the contracts of Pronger, Bolland, Datsyuk, etc all the way along this thing, but dumping 35yo LolSmith's awful contract and refusing to pay Shane Doan $5M/year in perpetuity to be a 3rd line plug was the straw that broke the camel's back? k, lol

i love this league

just nailed it imho.
The core is incredible and they have so many top end prospects. From what I have seen from the worlds Keller is already a beast and Dvorak had a solid 15g 18a in 78 games on that tanking team last year. If Strome can even get halfway there from junior they are so stacked down the middle and have 3 great pieces at D.

To stickt it out for so long and miss out on those upcoming playoff years rigth when SJS, LOS and probably ANA are getting worse is just dumb.

Also with the addition of TVR I expect CAR to flip one of their d for a top 6 forward. Sadly EDM is running out on top 6 guys to trade with.

3 1/2 hours to do 31 picks? I don't know if I can do it this year.

How up were the awards show ratings? I'm thinking 300% more viewers?
