probably
but as i don't recall having any thoughts about him at the time, i decided to go take a look at what was said after i realized that this was the McIlrath draft, and remember there being chatter

Wrane's completely arbitrary draft predictions for ****s and giggles - following the mantra of drafting BPA.
Edmonton Oilers - Taylor Hall
Boston Bruins- Tyler Seguin
Florida Panthers - Cam Fowler
Columbus Blue Jackets - Brandon Gormley
New York Islanders - Ryan Johansen
Tampa Bay Lightning - Brett Connolly
Carolina Hurricanes - Erik Gudbranson
Atlanta Thrashers - Nino Niederreiter
Minnesota Wild - Austin Watson
New York Rangers - Vladimir Tarasenko
Dallas Stars - Alexander Burmistrov
Anaheim Ducks - Derek Forbort
Phoenix Coyotes - John MacFarland
St. Louis Blues - Mikael Gradlund
Boston Bruins - Emerson Etem
Ottawa Senators - Mark Pysyk
Colorado Avalanche - Quinton Howden
Nashville Predators - Evgeny Kuznetsov
Los Angeles Kings - Riley Sheahan
Pittsburgh Penguins - Jeff Skinner
Detroit Red Wings - Tyler Pitlick
Phoenix Coyotes - Jarred Tinordi
Buffalo Sabres - Jaden Shwartz
Atlanta Thrashers - Alex Petrovic
Vancouver Canucks - Dylan Mcllrath
Washington Capitals - Brock Nelson
Montreal Canadiens - Ludvig Rensfeldt
San Jose Sharks - Calle Jarnkrok
Anaheim Ducks - Jon Merrill
Chicago Blackhawks - Ryan Spooner
I'm not going to lie, by the time I hit Pittsburgh I didn't know any of them well enough and just started to cross-reference from different mock drafts. That said, in a couple of years look out for Kirill Kabanov (ranked #38) and Teemu Pulkkinen (#50). I've seen them play once a couple years ago and they caught my eye and I'm sticking to them. Plus I've read some good things - which is enough for a crapshoot anyways.

lol @ the Canucks taking Mcllrath tho

Kabanov is obviously the most intriguing player at the draft. A top 5 talent that will likely fall out of the first round due to being one of the biggest primadonnas anybody has ever seen at that age. I wouldn't be surprised if a team with a lot of picks in the first two rounds takes a chance on him though, like Boston.
correct on Skinner anyway

Looking forward to having this kind of young talent in Boston. Never mind that we already have more quality Centers than we know what to do with.
looooooooool, ouch

also bingo, kind of a drop after Taylor/Tyler
(though Johansen is pretty good)

lol
