NHL 2008-09 Regular Season Thread - Page 46 - Sporting Events and Fantasy Sports

Probably just back-to-back games home then road, without Luongo, Sundin, and Salo, a couple days before Christmas, and playing a team who hasn't lost at home in regulation. Nothing new that I've seen or heard, just the reality of the situation.

But then again, they have nothing to lose...

This month the Canucks have given up 2.9 goals a game. I think we need Luongo back.

At this point having Luongo and Salo back would be 100x better than having Sundin.

Great night for me tonight. Sick game by the caps going down by 4 and bringing it back for victory in OT. I'm at the bar with my friend drinking $1 beers while wearing caps gear (that's the deal...called Caps On Tap), then some douche starts a fight with me and I ruin his face, get booted out of the bar, and am now watching 28 days later and about to play some O8b

edit: and I'm wearing a boot because my ankle is broken in 2 places

haha no jaws chomps, bluefox. but we were sitting like 30 ft from Schneider after he got booted (bravos1 has sick seats). i too felt kinda bad for him. dude also looks like he's 16.

Has anyone else been following the all-star voting? It looks like the NHL totally nerfed the Ducks on the ballot; Getzlaf, Pronger, Niedermayer, and Giguere all had about 200k votes taken away from them, they were all leading their categories but now only Getzlaf is still in a starting position. Can't say I'm too sorry for them though because they are a thuggish team and don't deserve any breaks from the league.

Why would they do that? Allstar voting is a jopke!!! It would be awesome if people just started voting for Jeff Finger and he ended up w/ 2 million votes..lol

Tampa Bay had Dan Boyle who is getting closer to "franchise d-man" status with SJ today. He was perhaps kind of "young and coming franchise d-man in the making" when TB won it I think. Not the same thing I realize but just felt like making that observation since I'm a Boyle fan.

So Phoenix got their cut of the revenue sharing advanced to them just so they could pay their utilities bills. (Funnily enough, on a related note they're the only team in the league who has to pay a surchage on their arena parking).

8 straight wins, going for the franchise record Sunday in Minny.

3rd line of Bolland, Ladd & Havlat comes through again holding the Center City line to 1 assist and 2 shots, while scoring 2 goals on 12 shots themselves.

I'm sure everybody on these board hates +/-, but Andrew Ladd's +17 while matching up against the top offensive line most nights is pretty impressive.
