and all kidding aside, i just hate the move stylistically. Iginla is just so damn slow these days, he can't get around the ice, like way too many of the other Kings players. i really fail to see how this team is gonna be able to grind it out vs the Sharks/Ducks/'Hawks/Wild/Pens/Caps. the game has changed, it's more about speed and skill now. the Kings will basically have to play months of perfect hockey in order to have any success this season. do they still have that gear? probably not.

Iginla really shouldn't have signed with the Avs that year. Another one who forgot to sort by pdo

(Can't believe that's only three years ago)

Kings are about done just to make the playoffs.
Win a series vs Minny or SJ? No.

Lombardi was trying to sell. He didn't have any goods (as you so frequently remind me) without compromising next season. Hard to compete with $10M of dead cap space (Brown and Gaborik) and Kopi skating on a 3rd line.

Even at the time people hated that contract. For both sides. Too much money, wrong team. He should have taken half that and gone to Pitt.

From what I understand the Kings fancy stats are still really strong. They have Quick for the whole year and they are probably solidly in the playoffs as usual.

I wish we had Quick for the whole 2016-2017.......... Now we have him for only about a month left in the season for him to work miracles and maybe onwards........

Kings (currently out of WC spot) make the playoffs if Stl falters (1 pt ahead and 1 game in hand) or Cal ****s the bed.
Realistically, they are 50/50.

Maybe
Jerome - Kopi - Gaborik
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli

gets you too the playoffs, but LA will be big dogs to any 1 seed.

and if you just sneak in as the 8 seed, you're probably getting Minnesota, which isn't so great

(not that San Jose or Chicago would be any better)

Kings only make the playoffs if they beat the Flames out or if the Oilers really **** up. Like I said, Blues play the Avs and Coyotes a combined 7 more times. I bet they have the easiest schedule in the league from here on out.

Also, we added guys like Shaw and Ott who take tilt related penalties every second game.

I seriously don't know what Bergevin is doing...

That Perty trade/contract was great, signing Radulov was awesome, getting Vanek for the playoff run in 2014 for a decent price was A+, and trading Eller for two 2nd rounds was genius.

But all the other stuff... It's either meh at best, or complete trash.

So we're at that point again where a bunch of morons get mad because someone wears number 66 in the NHL

JAWSH Ho-Sang seems like the right guy to stick it to them

Yeah, very good in advanced stats and such. Still think that 3.5m$ for a guy that has put up 17-28-30-26-27-26 and now 22 pts through this season is too much.

Anything under 2.2m and I'd be fine with it.

so more productive game tonight: Pernell Karl vs Habs or Jannik Hansen vs Nucks?

former would obv be way better if MIKE was still behind the bench
