he's fairly cancerous for a lot of different reasons

Preds giving up on him makes me think he's drinking again or something

not sure it makes sense for a good or bad team to take a chance

Underrated in what sense? He made several Team Canada teams (where he never really stood out amongst elite teammates and opposition) and has been known as a top tier LW for more than a decade.

Main problem for him profile-wise is that the Sharks made very few runs in the playoffs, so he never really had a big stage to perform on.

It means you can follow the game and adapt for a very long time.
Those who played 40+ ( jagr,chelios,howe,etc.) were pretty good.

Marleau's career high in points is 86. The only members of the 500goal club who didn't record more than 85 points in any season of their career were Peter Bondra and Rocket Richard.
