Teams seem to be nicely grouped:

Getting in: (99%+)
Patriots, Panthers, Cardinals, Bengals

Don't see how they can't: (95%+)
Packers, Broncos

Decent chance: (36%-70%)
Vikings (WC), Steelers(WC), Colts (LOL AFCS), Chiefs, Giants (LOL NFCE), Bills (WC), Falcons (WC), Seahawks (WC), Texans (LOL AFCS)

Now is the time to try: (22%-23%)
Eagles (LOL NFCE), Buccs (WC)

So you're saying there's a chance: (3-10%)
Redskins, Jets, Dolphins, Cowboys, Jaguars, Bears, Raiders, Saints, Rams

Nope: (<1%)
Lions, Ravens, Browns, Chargers, Titans, 29ers
This should be updated in the first post of every weekly discussion thread imo. Need to funk that 3 - 10% chance home

Are the lines usually this nuts? Dal back to -1. I haven't started paying attention to them that closely until this year but haven't ever seen a game like this dal/car one.

Det has been all over the place too.

Haven't followed injury related stuff or whatever but I think Cowboys -1 is fair line

so fired coaches/coaching vacancies will be:

for sure:
chipshot
everyone who doesn't win the afc south
campbell
payton

probably:
mccoy
whoever wins the afc south
caldwell (idk, i feel like this should be for sure but this winning streak might propel something that accidentally saves his job)
gruden

possibly:
garrett
tomsula
fisher?
coughlin?

My list:

Locks
Tennessee
Miami
Detroit
San Francisco

Likely
Cleveland
Indianapolis
Philadelphia
Washington

50/50
San Diego
Jacksonville
St. Louis
Houston

Unlikely
Tampa Bay
Dallas
New Orleans
N.Y. Giants

I could be talked into flipping Cleveland and San Francisco. They're likely two of the three worst-run franchises at the owner level, so I have no idea what their decision-making process involves, honestly. Actually, abjectly poor ownership seems to be a recurring theme with the eight most likely franchises.

My top-of-the-head five worst owners ITL would be

Snyder
Haslam
York
Irsay
Ross

Certainly open to arguments for others. It's amazing that I could still make a next five six out of owners who are crooked (Wilf), the scion of a notoriously cheap family (Bidwill, Brown, Ford), or nakedly trying to move their team and not caring if the team stinks (Kroenke, Spanos).

I'd bump mccoy to fired list. Move caldwell down, I think the Lions are gonna make a run. Maybe harbaugh would either GTFO or get got too. Pettine, every browns coach always is at least probable with a losing record to be canned. Doesn't feel like anyone else you didn't list has a chance but I guess you never know.

Packers either gonna barely make it or barely miss.

lol @ all of us who missed the free Carolina $.

bears need lots of DL. ILB's too, all of them suck vs the run. Packers could've established all day, so lol @ 2p2 saying "call a pass with rodgers every play you idiot", finally does and it's the stupid thing to do.

definitely seems like Zach Miller will be the Bears starting TE next season and Martellus will be gone.

Chicago is still bad defensively despite the don't give up passing yards stat; GB just gameplanned it wrong tonight.

How many NFL teams are owned from inheritance? Besides those three, I can think of the Steelers, Chiefs, and Giants (although only partially now). The Bears too, right?

Those teams go way back. Do the 49ers count, given the strange transfer of power involved with the DiBartiolo family that left the team in Jed York's hands? The Bucs are inherited, although I think Malcolm Glazer bought them in the mid-90s.

I think this decision was made when the front office was cleaned out-- they just didn't have anyone else with HC experience who could take over if they let Caldwell go. I really don't see them bringing in entirely new front office people and then mandating they keep a coach because he went 5-3 in his last eight games or whatever.

I mean if he pulls a Wayne Fontes and they finish on an 8-0 streak and make the playoffs, then maybe.

ok I'll write in format something like

Locks
Tennessee
Miami
San Francisco
Philadelphia
San Diego
Cleveland

Likely
Indianapolis
Washington
Jacksonville

50/50
St. Louis
Houston
Detroit
Baltimore (I'm counting him possibly leaving for cushy college gig like his bro here)

Unlikely
Tampa Bay
Dallas
New Orleans (to me payton seems like a weasel, weasels tend to stay awhile longer than you'd think they would)
[/QUOTE]

6 locks seems like a lot but I can't think of one reason why any of them should keep their job.

Good point, but Miami did that with Philbin nath, I feel like it happens a lot more than examples I remember. There's just major disconnect in many orgs. Sometimes they force the GM to keep the coach during the bridge year, because they don't want to pay that coach another year to do nothing than they have to. Lots of them are super cheap like that.
