Cutler might offer a better chance of winning than lots of QBs who will make NFL rosters this year, but he's probably the one I'd least want on my team. There's just something about him for me, almost like he's a black hole that sucks up everything remotely interesting about football. I can't imagine buying tickets to a game with him in as starter even if my team was winning.

Naturally he's heading straight to the broadcast booth where he'll undoubtably set the media world ablaze with his likable personality and thoughtful analysis

They did get an extra 2 & 3 (& got rid of their own 4), but mostly they just reaped the benefits of lol Bears.

I don't feel as strongly about this as I'm arguing, though, so I'll stop.
I mean if you think Joe Williams is useless that's a misevaluation on your part. I'm not too worked up about $3-4M per year contracts to add rotational guys to a 2-14 team.

Just going by what I read: can't catch, can't block, runs too high, quitter, wasn't even on team's draft board when Shanny pushed them to draft him, etc. No personal opinion on him as a player. Although he was 181st on the Zone Reads BIG BOARD, which isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the 121th pick.

We'll just agree to disagree

Yeah, he had a DND for "off-field" after leaving the team mid-season, which, you may want to read why.

Link just took me to a USA Today ad, but I looked it up again & it still sounds like a red flag to me. Especially the 23 y/o part...

It should take you to a USA Today story, not just an ad.

Anyway, no, I'm not treating "took time off to finally deal with the death of his sister and his other issues that had developed as a result" as an undraftable red flag. It doesn't mean I don't have other concerns about his game-- that's why he was a day 3 selection, after all-- but I think he has a reasonable chance of being the lead 49ers back by the end of the year.

Having such severe mental health issues that you quit your team in the middle of the season 10 years after what you're dealing with happened, & then having them be "fixed" by 2 teammates getting hurt because something something god, is about the reddest of flags.

I feel bad for the guy, but that's not how one resolves mental health issues.

But yeah, Shanny loves him & they irrationally hate Hyde, so wouldn't be surprising.

It's out there in a few places most notably peter king in SI. NFL bashing him for his humanitarian stuff and that's why he's not in the NFL. Not ya know blackballed for politics reasons or anything like that.

Also Frank Clark attacked a girl on twitter who writes for Seattle's sbnation page ote an article about his DV 2 years ago. Something about her job won't last long and he'd hire her to clean the fishtank. I'd call it a dumbass douchemove, but he's a DV'er so he's just an unreal piece of ****.

Seattle will show great concern and then do nothing.

I was thinking today that there's a pretty good chance that Kaepernick is better than every QB who was drafted this year. And yet he can't get signed? Lol makes sense.

Wait I'm confused, Schneider and Pete said they did all their due diligence with Frank. I mean sure, they drafted him after Schneider promised he'd never draft anyone that struck a female or had a domestic dispute, and they didn't interview the girlfriend or any witnesses, but due diligence!

10 sacks in a season gets a lot of due diligence

Some random news:

* Patriots sign Blount to some "May 9th tender" thing I've never heard of, which means that the Pats have tendered him a $1.1m offer & that he'll count toward the compensatory cap formula. If he doesn't sign somewhere else by late July, he can only negotiate with the Patriots until week 10. Seems like an odd rule.

* Michael Floyd to Vikings for 1/$1.5m which could go all the way up to $6m with inventives.

* Brandon Graham is skipping off-season stuff & might hold out. He has 2 years left on the 4/$26m contract he signed, & has base salaries of $6.5m this year & next.

* New Bills GM Beane has final say over the 53-man roster.

* Redskins & Scot McCloughan working on a severance package. Sounds like he's still held in high regard around the league & will likely be receiving at least an advisory position somewhere soon, & maybe even a high level exec position.

* Apparently Ziggy Ansah is listed as being 29 in news stories in his native Ghana, but 27 here.

Daryl Washington released by Cardinals, saves 3MM on the cap.
Blaine Gabbert signed by Cardinals to 1yr/855k. Possible QBoF. Arians likes him a lot fwiw.

That Blount thing does seem like a very odd rule, screws him over because nobody is gonna wanna give up a pick to sign him. Even a lame pick. It really hurts his chances to find a new team.

And NE probably doesn't want him either given all the RB's they've signed.

Kindof a ****ty way to treat a player just to nickel and dime every edge. But that's sports.

They waited for months before the hearing. It was pretty likely that they were just waiting for him to **** up before denying him.

I read an interesting (to me) OverTheCap Article on the various permutations this morning...

When you think that his 2015 season ban came because he drank a beer a few hours before the end of a regular season ban would have ended while in a private plane with his Browns teammates on the way to Vegas after their game had ended...NFL are a bunch of ****ers.

Feel really sorry for the dude. Clearly has issues and probably not a bright guy but he has been royally ****ed over imo

I have an irrational love for him because he won me a fantasy season but feels to me he has been totally bullied
