Meh, yes & no. Apparently if he starts the year on the PUP list they can roll his contract over a year & he wouldn't be a free agent after this year regardless. & taking a $10m+ option on a guy that's only guaranteed for injury, when he's currently quite injured, doesn't necessarily seem like a great upside risk.
Even if he's healthy enough to resume his career in 2018, if he sits on the bench behind Bradford all year, his value isn't going to be too much higher than $10m/year.
But yeah, I hope for the best for him.
