Tldr. When cooks gets traded for a mid second and some change they will deny the first round pick offer as a bogus rumor.

Michael Thomas didn't make Michael Thomas. Brees and Cooks made Michael Thomas.
your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad,

more often than not, the biggest improvement jump that a player makes is between their first and second season, so all smart money is on an improvement. name me 5 rookie receiving seasons with these good stats where they fell away

and almost every single one of Brees' stats was better than his career average last year. His INTs were bang on career ave, albeit INT % was lower and he was sacked slightly more. Of course he's going to decline at some point in the next few years - he's 38. But he hasn't started to yet

It's futile to argue with waterwolves

Notice how he's said absolutely nothing about Thomas' game specifically that makes him a candidate to regress, it's all projections based on other factors he's assuming. Do you even scout film bro?

Oh, and the list of 1,000 yard rookie receivers who fell off the face of the Earth afterwards is exactly one, and even he had injury problems starting that offseason. (For the record, Thomas also has the highest catch rate of all those receivers.)

Prorate Brees last 5 games he was on pace for 22 passing TD's. He threw 4 of those TD's against an Arizona team that had quit. Everybody was torching Arizona through the air at that point.

These signs aren't always obvious.......it has begun imo and getting rid of a top WR in the league isn't exactly going to help Brees.

Do you think Cooks is better than Thomas?

edit: "Last five games" is a convenient end point because Brees' weeks 13 and 14 were bad games. The next three are pretty normal and in line with his typical output.

He's better and he does more for that offense.

Who did teams focus on stopping last year between the two?

That's who the league thinks is better too.

Should I word it differently?

How about 31% of the season? Does that work?

Show your work if you're going to make these claims.

Show my work? Lol Nath I'm going to let this one go buddy. I'm a big fan of your posting. I will say teams did start rolling coverage towards Thomas late in the year a little more and lol Cooks roasted them.

Thomas should be begging Cooks to stay. Not firing shots at him as he leaves....

In other words, you can't, and the only thing you have is a five game sample cherry picked to support your narrative which isn't even about the player in question. That's about what I expected.

Fine, then do it. You made the claim, you find the evidence for it.

I'll look at any evidence you provide. But if all you have are assertions, I don't think we have anything else to say to each other on this topic.

Tony Jefferson & Danny Woodhead expected to sign with Ravens, then Ravens expected to cut Lardarius Webb.

Webb might be an interesting for for a team like the Patriots who value man coverage skills in their safeties & signing players who don't impact the compensatory pick formula.

This feels like a pretty weak FA class. Mostly hoping Kalil doesn't resign w/ the Vikes. Do want TJ Lang.

you have to factor in the opportunity cost with these O linemen though. Kalil isn't a great tackle at all but if you can get him reasonably priced it takes the pressure off the draft and prevents you overpaying for somebody else

Min has drafted quite a few tackles lately and all of them were horrible, some everyone laughed at when they were drafted, he can't eval the position but I'm presuming someone still will overpay kalil b/c top picks always get too many shots/$$$ so yeah.

It's a pretty terrible tackle draft class. I heard they were in on Whitworth a while ago. No idea where that stands now. Apparently Kalil to Panthers barring any last second setbacks.

I've heard speculation that people might try to pry Joe Thomas from Browns as a result.

Nick Perry back to Packers for 5 years, Glennon to Bears 3/$43.5, Hauschka to Bills 4/$12.4, DJAX to Bucs barring the unexpected.
