Texans over Broncos is a no-brainer for me too if I'm Romo. They can structure his contract to have bigger hits in years 2 & 3 once Osweiler is off the books, too.

49ers about to sign Juscyjkasdfk!

& Barry Church to Jaguars for 4 years at over $6m per year.

5 years, first two are guaranteed, three after year to year. Cap hit drops from 16m to 10m. $6m bonus this year.

Nice structure.

Although surprised they'd front load with current cap issues. I guess they don't expect to get Gilmore back.

Martellus was always gone. Depending on Allen trade comp, I like it a lot for Pats.

Bills also signing Mike Tolbert. Weird.

Jordan Raanan of ESPN is reporting that the Bills will sign RB Mike Tolbert to a contract.

While Tolbert has played fullback in recent years, Raanan says that he will be a running back with the Bills.

They just signed Gillislee to a 5th rough tender, just just signed DiMarco...why do they need Tolbert?

Bills going to run the old Green Bay sweep offense?

Gilislee has been great with the Bills...I was wondering why they didn't sign him to a 2nd round tender....thought they would match if others wanted him, or try to sign him to a long-term deal. I mean, I guess they needed to replace Reggie Bush and his -3 yards rushing somehow.

Maybe they're afraid someone will swoop on Gillislee & they'll take the 5th rounder? Even if they do bring Gillislee back, Tolbert can't cost much, though, could be a 3rd/goal line RB, & has the McDermott connection from Carolina.

According to Michael Gehlken, the Chargers have agreed to a four-year, $4.41 million dollar extension including a $620,000 signing bonus for LS Mike Windt.

Windt, 30, is originally signed on with the Bengals back in 2010 as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati. He was, unfortunately, waived by the Bengals but was quickly signed by the Chargers.
For some reason the UNFORTUNATELY in this blurb is hilarious to me.

I've always liked Dwayne Allen's game. 7mill a yr is a lot for a 2nd TE but he is a good blocker and maybe they want Gronk blocking less to preserve him better.

Only problem with Allen is he makes Gronk look durable. Dude is always hurt.

Would've rather the Bills signed Juszczyk to do the same thing as Tolbert and DiMarco...oh well.

they better hold on to Gillislee.

The Dwayne Allen trade is reportedly for "a late round pick".

Like it for the Pats. His cap hits for the next 3 years:

$4.9375M in 2017
$5M in 2018
$7.4M in 2019

& none of it is guaranteed if he doesn't work out.

3 years younger than Bennett, great blocker, will be much cheaper than Bennett, & will allow them to recoup a compensatory pick for losing Bennett without messing up compensatory formula by signing someone else.

[ETA: stupid Field Yates, that guy isn't to be trusted, apparently it's actually a 4th & a 6th which I don't like nearly as much]

[ETA: reading comprehension fail...the Colts got a 4th, the Patriots get a 6th, I still like the trade]

Just to echo others, seems like Marshall just wanted to stay in NY to keep his media gigs going. He is 33 and probably has 1 foot out the door.

If Eli can get protection it will be interesting to see how the combo works though. I could see it working for a year if Marshall has something left.

yeah I like this. there is no risk, and what they probably get is a decent talent who can play the #2 TE role effectively. and the cost is reasonable

his ceiling is not Bennett either, but he can probably be a good as the banged up version of Bennett we got most of this year

* LaFell got 2/$10m to stay in Cincy.

* Torrey Smith "very likely" to sign with Ravens.

* Jets preparing to drastically overpay Nick Perry.

* Browns supposedly in play on a lot of the big free agents including Tony Jefferson & Kevin Zeitler.

Lions signing Ricky Wagner as starting RT is huge. $9m/yr is pricey but the rest of the o-line is on rookie deals, Decker at $2.5m is the biggest cap hit so the unit as a whole is cheap.

Pats getting Allen is nice.

So the thought is that stephon is leaving buffalo? Perfect fit for you know Carolina

Hopefully Allen can turn it around with the Pats. Good dude, seemed like a hard worker, just hurt too often and ultra-inconsistent.

Seemed to sort of his a ceiling last year. If the Colts got a 4th there I'm happy.

Last I heard was Bears was his most likely destination at about $13m/year, but who knows?
