have a nice day
What I meant was that I didn't wanna bring up current guys and cite their #'s because it wouldn't be a very good argument for them over Warner due to # inflation today. Like I think Phillip Rivers is better than Warner, but I didn't want to use him as an example. I'd rather use someone as an example thats career ran almost exactly same span as Warner. Why I said McNabb.

But if you think that McNabb over Warner is a joke then I guess we shall part ways.

I mean I can't prove it but I think Kurt Warner on anything less than beast teams with HOF weapons and it is pretty clear he is not that caliber of player. But I guess we'll never know.

Don't forget Rivers. Will be interesting to see how QBs are judged from now on. So many QBs are putting up better stats than QBs in the HoF.

Boomer would be in the HoF if he'd won a Super Bowl. He and that Bengal offense had some amazing seasons and they were really fun to watch. Maybe he'll sneak in some day.

Lol at Phil Simms ever getting in the HoF without buying a ticket.

I mean you can argue that winning Super Bowls & being on all-time great offenses are overrated accomplishments, but you can't be surprised that someone with those things on their resume would make the HOF.

The TD thing is pretty lol, but really, who cares?

Yeah, I agree with that. My critique of Warner is more as a player, how good he ran with the teams he was on, rather than caring that he got into the HOF.

He definitely had a unique career the way it unfolded.

But someone like Donovan McNabb isn't going into the HOF right? He carried teams with much less offensive talent for years. Had good #'s, good team success, lost a competitive SB with his #1 WR hurt and most importantly, he's just better than Kurt Warner. No GM or personnel guy would take Warner over him when the two of them were playing.

I guess that is my issue with Warner, he just isn't that level of QB to me. More of a guy that only played well when everything was in his favor.
The Rams would've been wasted on McNabb, he wasn't accurate enough.

Warner is like Marino 2.0 bro.

He was hurt for years prior so everyone was hesitant to put their job on the line for him as the #1 guy.

Warner better for a good team but not as good at carrying an avg team I can buy.

The hurt argument though, I mean if he was KURT WARNER HOF LEVEL QB, then doesn't 1 out of 31 teams take the gamble and let him start? That's kinda my point. That hesitancy isn't going to exist with Tony Romo right now and he is older and more hurt, yet it did with Warner?

Warner was so damn fun to watch. Not really helpful but my two cents.

Right, conflating offense with team but same difference.

Philly was an elite defense.

But much of the skepticism on him was erased with his Arizona time.

His Arizona success was a surprise to all, but it was no fluke.

Don't really get the Warner hate. Two time league MVP that led two different franchises to a SB. His background story is incredible as well.

Was a big part of the narrative during that time. "Greatest show on turf"

RGIII ends up in HOF after randomly rebounding in Jacksonville after a stint as a backup.

Decade later:

I'd vote him in. 2012-15 is arguably the GOAT four-year stretch by a defensive player.

I think the Davis thing will look fine in 20 years because if they wanna keep letting RB's in the HOF then 6-7 years of good play will be the norm.

No, this is true. I'm just saying that was the popular knock on him and that's faded with people's memory.

Gary: 1159 in 12 games
Anderson: 1487 and 15 tds
Portis: 1508/15tds in rookie year and 1591/14 in 13 games next

Only Portis came with any degree of pedigree. Kind of like how Bulger's success waylaid some of Warner's hype.

TD got in?

So Priest Holmes should be a lock then, right? Brian Westbrook too?

I'd say LJ's #'s after Priest may hurt him, but who knows.

Also think Alexander could get in over Priest.

Beast Mode's chances definitely have to improve if TD gets in. He has a ring unlike the others.

Especially with everyone positive he would've won a second but Pete didn't give him the chance.

The Ravens offered their entire draft for the rights to pick Ryan, sources said, going from No. 8 to No. 2. The trade nearly happened, but the Rams asked for more. They also wanted Baltimore's second-round pick from 2009 to clinch the deal.

wait, what? Rams were like entire draft for 6 spots and for a guy we don't even want? nah, need more. Ravens then thought wait, what the hell are we doing? loooooool fail. Ravens traded down so the jags picked a bust and they got flacco who sucks but rang so nobody cares.

I mean that's fine and all and I tend to agree but we've got guys who were just better for longer who should get there first

Atlanta may get a chance for mini-revenge as soon as possible.

New England will be the home team on Week 1's Thursday Night Football. Here are their potential opponents. (and my own ranking of the Pats most likely opponent)

1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Kansas City Chiefs
3. Houston Texans
4. Carolina Panthers
5. Miami Dolphins
6. Los Angeles Chargers
7. Buffalo Bills
8. New York Jets

It's certainly 1 or 2. Very likely 1, since super bowl rematch was the kickoff this year.

I'm pretty sure the reason the Pats came back like they did, in the broader sense, was to make the announcement tomorrow that the 49ers hired Kyle Shanahan more embarrassing

6 ****ing years of that imbecile playcaller who choked away a super bowl and 6 ****ing years of a braindead color commentator as the GM

or maybe 1 year of both til they're fired and the niners can keep the one and done streak alive
