This Lynch hire gives me a hope that some day... maybe a long time from now... a person that didn't play football nor is a son of a coach will be randomly hired to be head coach of an NFL team and undoubtedly become the 2nd greatest coach of all time

If your point is about nepotism then I think Belichick is a great example of someone who worked their ass off and didn't get aided by this. If you mean a person with zero football background, well, doubt that will happen. I guess it would be more interesting if someone who never played and didn't have a family member involved went the grad assistant route and got promoted all the way to head coach.

i'm still in ****ing disbelief at this

at least matt millen was a decent color commentator when the lions hired him. lynch gives me ear-aids. and this CTE blasted imbecile is going to be the ****ing GM for SIX ****ING YEARS because he called kyle shanahan (who isn't even the coach yet) and said "hey, i bet i could do this job because reasons"

i'm not sure who this speaks worse of, shanahan, lynch, york, or any 9ers fan alive for continuing to be one

Shanahan undoubtedly believes that he can manipulate and control Lynch to his advantage--even if he has to enlist daddy to help him do it.

i feel like lynch is a mortal lock to draft a free safety in the first round every year for 5 years til he's finally fired after they go 0-90

Shanahan will have full authority i'm sure on the draft and free agency. I'm sure they made a deal of Lynch being the ultimate yes man and possibly letting Shanahan **** his wife on weekdays.

But Shanahan could have still found a more knowledgeable flunky who could provide >0 value. lol him and everyone involved.

I secretly want the 9ers to play in the HOF game so they can go 0-21 in 2017.

9ers war room:

york: so what do you guys think?
shanahan: i'm really liking this watson kid, we need a qb, looked great in the combine, did well in the interview, i think we could build an offense around him
marathe: we should probably go allen and shore up our defense
lynch: I THINK WE NEED TO DRAFT A PLAYMAKER

round 3:

shanahan: this kid out of bama looks good
marathe: this guy out of michigan fits our team
lynch: we should draft a FOOTBALL PLAYER

round 6:

shanahan: i'm thinking this qb might have some upside
marathe: how bout this te?
lynch: this guy reminds me of a YOUNG JOHN LYNCH

Kirk GOAT threw a tipped pick then ran back 50 yards to strip Aqib Talib for a fumble, what a man

the Zone Reads timeline earlier tonight had quite a few people reminding us all of the time Lynch said Alex Smith was on the level of Peyton Manning and Drew Brees

he is if you sort by the exact number of pick he was drafted at. 1,1,1

lynch is just way ahead of you guys.

the move makes perfect sense, a brain damaged organization hiring a brain damaged safety as a GM.

Makes you wonder if Kyle Shanahan was dropped on his head as an infant, doesn't it?

York must have the playbook in how to destroy a billion dollar NFL organization in 3 short seasons. All York had to do was fire ******ed Baalke and step away and while I don't know if we would have won titles, we wouldn't be in the **** storm we currently are in with no end in site to the misery he's caused all of his team's fans.

Nah. His father had a fetish for ripping knees, not heads.

Sucks but you are still going to be a fan in 15 years regardless of the shot product he puts out.

If I don't see any improvement, I'm not sticking around. I really didn't want to stick around after they let go of Harbaugh because I knew the team would turn to complete **** with Baalke/York at the helm. The post-Eddie era has been a joke. The Yorks are completely ******ed and have done basically good 2 things in their tenure and I now think Harbaugh was picked by accident which is one of those good things.

So supposedly Mitch Trubisky's actual height is closer to 6'1" than the 6'3" he's listed as

I wonder if that will give teams any pause about taking a guy who couldn't win a starting job until he was 22 over guys who were starting at 19 and playing as well then as Trubisky does now

OTOH he's got some intangibles going for him that teams and scouts love

How many concussions did John Lynch have in his career? Would be like giving Troy Aikman a GM job. No, just no.

Trubisky is a lock to be total dog****. Mark Sanchez wannabe.

Ok, I'm gonna embarass myself here but I've been traveling and stopped reading NFL news after the Colts hired their new GM for fear it was Grigson in a mask.

Did the 9ers really hire that John Lynch to be their GM? Like the old Broncos FS?

100% agree.

I'm on the Kizer best qb from this class bandwagon.

I have Kizer #3 but I admittedly haven't watched much of him. I might like him more once I do.

Right now, my head says Deshaun Watson is the top QB, but my heart says Patrick Mahomes.
