It's just so disingenuous, people have been complaining about it for years and now when the ratings tank he suddenly doesn't like it

He basically said he hates seeing his bank account grow, but there's just nothing he can do about it.

If it reduces commercials, great. But how do we know they aren't just going to just move the commercials to other times and make commercial breaks even longer?

To a certain extent, I'd rather have fewer, but longer commercials if that was an available trade off. Obviously longer than 4/5 minutes or whatever would start to get too long.

That's exactly their plan.

I heard the plan on the radio. Right now by quarter there are 5,6,5,5 scheduled breaks averaging something like 1:50, and they plan to move to 4,4,4,4 averaging something like 2:20.

* My numbers might be slightly off but it was something like that.

He's just a camp body so whatever.

we're gonna be the team this year who's best QB is a converted WR.

they also said halftime gonna be on a set clock at 13 min 30 sec, so lol halftime adjustments since it's gotta take at least 3 min just to get everyone in the damn room. It does mean no late halftimes (I highly doubt this will be the case for the super bowl but that's fine, some only tune in for commercials + halftime show or whatever)

I think they're finally aware that we don't have the attention spans/time for 3+ hours a game in 2017. Or that halftime to the studio for score updates doesn't matter much these days.

Those in-studio halftime shows were great when I started watching football in 1990. Now they're mostly stupid/pointless.

Did I miss something? I thought Abelson wasn't a part of this new deal. He initially wanted a piece of the team to build the stadium and Mark Davis told him to pound saly.

Was Newton complaining about his shoulder mid season. Don't remember. He is not one to miss time with an injury. Entirely possible that he downplayed the injury to the training staff.

He was obviously hurt and before week 14. He was concussed multiple times in the Denver game but didn't miss time due to lol NFL medical services then concussed again by the Falcons early in the season and was just never healthy.

Shoulder injuries are tricky and there's no guarantee he'll ever be 100% again.

Do the Saints have any cap issues that they need to figure out before the Butler deal could be completed or something?

Aren't they cutting ARmstead and have to wait until June 1st?

They converted a bonus on Armstead to save $4m on the cap this year.

Post June 1st cuts can happen anytime & don't have to actually occur after June 1st, they are just considered that way for accounting purposes, but they aren't cutting him.

Saints are currently about $16.1m under.

So logically this is probably what is happening...

Butler is weighing if he wants to take NO's deal or re-sign 1/4 and hit FA?

Either that or they just have nothing going really.

I'm sure it's mostly a balancing issue. The less the Saints would have to give up in a trade, the more they'd be willing to pay Butler. Lots of moving pieces, & the Patriots aren't in any rush because they have leverage as Butler is only making $3.9m this year, & the Saints can't actually sign him to an offer sheet because a) Butler hasn't signed his tender & b) if they did the Pats could just let him go for the 11th pick.

I'm sure it will get sorted one way or the other over the next month or two.

No Fun League bans act that never injured anyone for player safety.

If you're referring to the leaper rule, I think you are wrong on the never injured anyone claim though it's hard to find a specific example since they really don't say how long snappers got injured in the course of a game in articles.

Also, i fail to see how this isn't a good thing for player safety, in what world is leaping and landing cleats first on people anything other than eventually leading to something bad?
