We discussed this a bit in the NFL offseason thread recently, so I wanted to see who was interested since we haven't done one of these in a while. Nothing complicated, but we've discussed two different formats:
1)All players, but with salary cap figures and a total salary cap
2)Rookie contracts only, no salary cap
So if you're interested, post here, and post whether you'd prefer 1 or 2, as well as any other rules you'd like to see. (Snake formatting, roster construction, etc.) And I guess we'll go with whatever has the most interest.
The format I tossed out there involved a snake draft, 20 man rosters, $65m cap with the following positions:
1 QB
1 RB
1 TE
3 WR
3 OL
1 offensive wildcard
2 Edge
1 DT
2 LBs
2 CB
1 S
2 defensive wildcard
Obviously just a suggestion & totally cool with any other format, & in regardless. Even if I just have to draft head to head against nath & get whooped.
So, uh, I guess I'll leave this open to try to find more owners, but if we can't find much more, we're gonna have to do a thing where we each own multiple teams, and likely there would be no trading.
No trades definitely adds another level to the draft strategy regardless. Also, the # of teams doesn't matter too much. We could always just lower the cap to make it more challenging if we want.

Down to own as many teams as necessary, though.
I think fewer teams would make sense if we were doing rookie contracts only, but if we have access to the whole league, an 8-team draft is not that challenging because every team will end up being a juggernaut.
Well, not if we had like a $25m cap or something silly low, but down for whatever.
I mean, if we went $25m cap and 25 players, you might be able to afford one player who wasn't on a rookie deal. Probably even some of the rookie contracts would be too expensive.
Yah, I was just exaggerating to show that obviously our teams wouldn't have to be juggernauts, but it's better to have a wider range of options for team building, so I agree more teams would be better.
