Yeah it's a little different but there is a lot of similarities especially with offensive players.

If you are going to make me choose I would say I don't see special when I watch Mixon but if he goes somewhere I love he could have a nice run as long as that situation stays the same. He is good in pass pro and he uncovers against LB with ease. I see an average/good 3 down back.

lol I hate Freeman. I honestly didn't even think he was going to make the team. Slow and small RB don't do to well in the NFL. I'm still not a believer in Freeman. Shanahan makes every RB he touches look good it seems.

A scout said cook has more off field baggage than mixon.

Pretty savage

#14 a 3rd and 6th for number 10.

Deal kthanks.

The only players I want for the Eagles is Thomas or Lattimore. I think they have to move up to 10

I actually assumed he meant Freeman. I guess that one's on me.

A lot of people have flipped to the "Gurley actually sucks now" side of the discussion, though, so it's not coming out of nowhere.

The DE out of Kansas State Jordan Willis looks like the 2nd/3rd best pass rusher in this draft. He's going to sneak into the first round after the Combine he had and rightfully so. I love his burst off the ball and you can tell he's super strong. He throws tackles around regularly. He looks really good in the Stanford tape. In the back field regularly. Holds up in the run game. Sheds blocks with ease. They double him some and run away from him a lot.

Looks like a double digit sack guy in the pros with that burst/strength combo.

He's a carbon copy physically of last year's sack leader Vic Beasley.

No way Cleveland let's Kevin King out of the 2nd round if they draft the same way they did last year. He might sneak into the first round so they might not even get him at the beginning of the 2nd.

6'3 so you worry about his change of direction and speed.
Then he runs a 4.43 40 and a combine best 6.56 3 cone (that's not a typo) with a nearly 40 inch vert.

Then check out the hands at the 1:06 mark.

Ridiculous.

Can't call him physical. He reminds me of Deon Sanders not in cover skills but the fact it doesn't seem like he likes to tackle. He does it but a little timid on tape at times. Tighten up his technique and he's got a very high ceiling.

The saints maximized Thomas' abilities and have at HOG qb.
The reason many of us were fine with DGB coming out was that he literally only needed run down the field and catch the ball to be a productive WR with his size so of course he seemingly can't even do that.

Some hot takes:

Garrett will not be great.
Reddick will be.
Best WR in this class will be Zay Jones
Best QB in this class will turn out to be...Chad Kelly.

If Zay Jones ends up being the best WR it's not because he is an all pro it's because no one else is even starting.

Reddick is going to be awesome if used correctly.

Finally getting a relaxing weekend to look at some draft videos. Time for a few scorching hot takes.

Fournette is going to bust hard. He's going to get drafted by a bad team that makes him use zone reads or who doesn't play with a fb.

Obi WILL start as a CB in the NFL and should go as high as 14.

McCaffery will be the best RB in this class if utilized correctly.

Reddick will be the best linebacker (I don't know if this one is scorching hot anymore but I called it a month ago).

Tabor will fall to the 7th

Like the love Obi is getting now. In a redraft 5 years from now he'll be a top 10 pick. If he can play CB he should be the first one taken in this draft. This draft class is loaded with good CB prospects though......so that could push him down some.

If I'm Cleveland I either trade out of the 12 spot for a bunch of picks or go

1.01 - Garrett
1.12 - Jordan Willis
2.01- Kevin King

Get the two best pass rushers in the draft and maybe the best CB in the draft. If King is gone it doesn't matter there's like 5-6 great CB in this draft there will be one there.

Adoree' Jackson is a guy that might fall to the second round probably who should be a 1st round pick. Plus you get a good return man too.

He gets beat on a double move for a TD but had an insane day on special teams in this game and a good day other than that TD in coverage. Plus he caught a pass for a TD. He's like Jabril Peppers but less physical better cover guy. Which might translate better to today's NFL.

He saved a couple TD's in the Alabama game too. Looks very fast on tape then performed well at the combine.

Hot take list for "could be best from the draft in a few years," which is another way of saying "Guys who might outperform their draft status but probably won't go until round 3 or later"

QB Jerod Evans
RB Jamaal Williams
WR Josh Reynolds
TE Bucky Hodges
OT Antonio Garcia
OG Nico Siragusa
C Jon Toth
DL Jaleel Johnson
EDGE Trey Hendrickson
LB Duke Riley
CB Ahkello Witherspoon
S Eh... This one's tough, all the potential sleepers tested really well except Lorenzo Jerome, whose film is great but it's FCS and he tested like crap

Really high on Taco Charlton. I'm an admitted Michigan slappy but think he's going to have a really productive NFL career

Interested putting Evans and Hodges in that list. As the token VT fan here, I was shocked to see Evans declare and didn't think he was ready.
Bucky is an incredible athlete but seems soft and nonchalant most of the time, and I don't see him doing well once his freak athlete advantage is negated against the better players in the NFL.

I'm not sure the NFL will negate his athleticism:
https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/bucky-hodges
https://3sigmaathlete.com/rankings/te/

Evans obviously could've used another year of experience but that was a pretty darn good performance for one year starting at the FBS level. Feel like a lot of the evaluation of him right now has basically looked at the one year of experience and some other factors and concluded "running project QB, day 3."

If you're a team picking #1 that needs a QB (IE the Browns) how many drafts in the last 10 years (going back to '07) do you end up staying put and taking a QB vs trading down for an avg package (top 15 pick + future 1st from meh team) vs drafting non QB over previous trade package?

I'm looking at players how you thought of them coming out, not what we know now.

There's 4 or 4+ seasons where I would definitely take a QB #1 overall. But there's only 1 season where I'd happily take a non-QB #1 overall.

Basically it's a BAP vs Trade vs QB question, right?

Like above, who's the BAP?

07 - non-QB (Johnson)
08 - QB (Ryan)
09 - QB (Stafford)
10 - I said non-QB BPA at the time (Suh), I'm sticking with it
11 - QB (Newton) or trade down if I don't need one, hard to go wrong this draft unless you take a QB who isn't Cam
12 - QB (Luck)
13 - trade down
14 - close between QB (Bridgewater) and non-QB (Clowney)
15 - QB (Winston)
16 - non-QB (in order of my board at the time: Tunsil, Ramsey, Bosa, Elliott)
17 - non-QB (Garrett)

14 and 16 have pretty solid cases for trading down, I wouldn't argue too hard if you wanted to go that route. In 14 I'd still want to try to stay in the top 7 or so, target one of the WRs, Aaron Donald, or Khalil Mack.

Ya I got Megatron as top non QB prospect last 10 yrs and only non QB that's easy to take. I ask because I don't have great recall on Jake Long or Stafford. Feels like Long was very hyped but could be wrong. Stafford had pretty terrible stats before his last yr w a young AJG. I would have taken trade over M. Ryan and got burnt.

Suh as 2nd best non QB but Id take Bradford over him. Jake Long like I said not sure on. Clowney and possibly Joe Thomas as other super good prospects but Clowney year I consider Teddy over him and consider the trade and definitely take the trade if I think I can still get Teddy.

2 of the years (luck>rg3 and mariota>jaemis) you have 2 qbs to take #1.

Garrett seems pretty comparable to Clowney but I think I'd bet straight up on him not being a brown. I think they try to move down again.
