Wonder how many teams have connections to people who drop scandals on prospects. Like if the Dolphins hacked Tunsil's account and put up a video of him smoking weed so he could drop to them. Or that La'el Collins thing where he was questioned in a murder or something.

if the browns really do favor trubisky from the QB group, it's kinda really dumb to take garrett first overall instead of him no? The rumor was about trading back up to where the jets pick, but someone's gonna take a QB before that out of SF/Chi/Jax/move up to Ten's spot/or the jets themselves.

There's all sorts of rumors on the quartet of QB's for the draft it's been nuts. Seems like any team with even a remote QB thought has been linked to nearly everyone.

The list of teams needing a QB or considering replacing the old guy eventually atm (ala what GB did with godgers) are CLE, SF, CHI, JAX, NYJ, BUF, HOU, RAMS (LOL) olds are NO (brees arm is dying and he's 38), PIT (roeth flirting with retirement and 35), NYG (eli's only got a few years you figure), Chargers (then try to screw him over)

and the following as possible wildcards, Was (cousins replacement), Balt (flacco sucks), Den (who's this lynch guy?), Mia (tannehill isn't that good), KC (smiff can't throw deep), Phi (they don't know this yet)

I've got no idea how smart Sashi is from a football perspective but he's definitely a strategic wizard and so my hope and tentative prediction is that all the Trubisky noise is a smokescreen being lapped up by the media and that their real target is either Watson or Jimmy G

maybe they can get somebody to offer them a motza for #1 to get Garrett but I think they'll get one of the other teams to trade up for Mitch and they'll then either stay put and grab DeShaun/trade up to 8-11 if they feel they need to/manage to get Jimmy G for pick 12

Are you running a draft contest this year? Was considering doing it if you weren't, didn't remember if you did it last year or not. It may be too late to generate enough interest given that it starts tomorrow though.

The two things that prevent me are that I haven't paid any attention to the draft and that I've been on the move from place to place since the beginning of the year.

If you want to start one, then you should.

As for QB, I could see the Browns trading from their first pick in the 2nd round into the first like what the Vikings did to get Teddy Bridgewater. They could get Davis Webb or Pat Mahomes from there.

I'd bet money Mahomes won't be around that long.

Davis Webb is going to be a hilariously bad pick if the buzz about him going late 1st or early 2nd is real.

The Browns should make a trade with SF for the 2 spot...ship over a bunch of 2s from this year and next and then have the top two spots in this year's draft. Pick Garrett and Mitch. Easy game.

This draft doesn't seem as exciting/intriguing as years' past. Anyone agree/disagree?

We forget Tunsil picture and the 2nd rd kicker weren't known lol's till after the draft started.

I guess Webb is the closest to this year's "which ****ing idiot team is gonna draft this guy everyone hates but the NFL inexplicably loves". aka the christian hackenberg rule.

That was all just last year's draft. It delivers on average but yeah there's no known commodity yet like last year's let's sell the farm for not all that great QB prospects.

It might turn into a dud, but there's got to be a couple facemelters with all the swirling rumors.

There's a lot more uncertainty this year, I find, which is plenty intriguing. At this point last year the top two picks were pretty locked in place.

The biggest intrigue for me is which QB is going where and when. So many real and smoke reports out there. Ten trying to convince Cle that NYJ could take their QB to swindle them is amusing. SF trying to get Garrett. etc. Everyone saying Davis Webb is late 1st for them or plan B or whatever the god damn hell that is. Those similar hackenberg reports of last year were ridic given his film but they ended up being accurate. The only time the words hackenberg and accurate will ever appear in the same sentence again.

Man, it sucks for Conley, but if he drops to the middle of the 2nd, I wouldn't mind.

given it's a recent rape accusation, he might go entirely undrafted.

Lots of witnesses apparently corroborate Conley's story & he actually seems kind of believable, but we shall see. I think he gets drafted.

we don't live in a fact based world these days.

I agree he probably will and some teams regretted not throwing a 7th on collins since he probably wasn't gonna holdout. Getting some old white owner to approve the pick however are a different matter. He's definitely entirely off some boards due to that.

Green Bay, Kansas City, Philadelphia, and Seattle all come to mind as not giving a **** about character concerns. They all come from the same coaching/GM tree when you get down to it, right?

this isn't about character concerns though, it's the recency bias part.

I'm pretty excited. No clear QB but lots of choices. A white RB in the top 10? A safety in the top 5? Should be fun.

Will be sweating: McDowell or Peppers possibly(?) falling to #48 and cheering any OL pick even tho Vikes recent history includes the names TJ Clemmings and Willie Beavers.

Let's hope there's nothing in it and then we can revel in the character and life of a guy who can meet a random woman in an elevator and say 'me and two of my buddies are gonna have a gang bang with a girl in our hotel, wanna join in?'

Odd you didn't mention New England, although you may have been referring to character concerns not related to cheating.

Also, Baltimore and Pittsburgh probably make this list, unless murder and rape aren't biggies to you.

The Cowboys?

Maybe you should just walk back this entire statement.
