of course that was the one year in my life the chiefs got to pick number one overall

my only consolation is that joeckel seems pretty terrible and there was a big debate between him and fisher

fisher is at least uh serviceable

That's the one thing I just noticed. The Giants have never picked #1 during my lifetime. They traded up to get a player picked 1st overall but have never picked 1st. I mean they essentially got the best player in a draft when the Saints took George Rogers over Lawrence Taylor but LT was a 2nd overall pick. That and it was before I was born.

2014 draft is hilarious, basically nobody whiffed except the Browns, who whiffed twice.

I dunno, Greg Robinson kinda sucks and he was second overall. But yeah, largely stacked barring injuries.

Robinson sucked more than I thought, lowest graded LT in 2014 and 2015 and was a healthy scratch in a few games in 2016. Also most penalised player in the league past three seasons.

Not even sure who i want the lions to draft this season. Seems like a pretty meh draft to me. I guess a linebacker would be nice. I imagine they'll draft a WR in the 1st round in typical SOL fashion.

Needs to be either a linebacker or DE IMO

I'm sure the draft geeks will still find plenty to like, but I do agree that it lacks a lot of the marquee names and intrigue of a typical year that appeals to the more casual draft fans like myself.

Still, I'm hoping there will be some lolJets kind of moments to look forward to.

Have to move offices during the draft tomorrow, pretty lame.

You know it's a kinda boring draft when ESPN is promoting the fact that it's the first ever draft held outdoors in its 30 second ad. Who ****ing cares?

As a Browns fan, I can't wait to be not excited about a draft. I haven't been this amped about an NFL event for years. Looking forward to lighting a huge bowl after passing on Garrett to drown my sorrows!

I mean, sure, getting excited about drowning my sorrows is odd, but I love the NFL and the games are truly meaningless for us Browns fans except for how they impact draft positions. It's the only time of the year I'm not numb to the Browns actions.

I'm mildly optimistic with the current regime, but Jimmy the Truck Stop Trickster is apparently poised to overrule the analytics people.

I feel exactly the same. I like the regime. I mean, I work in analytics so I'm biased af, but whatever. However, Jimmy Haslam is a ****ing MESS. Jimmy Haslam is a WASTE. Jimmy Haslam is a big fat MISTAKE.

I actually would like Corey Davis to the Lions at #21.
Anquan Boldin was good last year but is too slow at this point in his career to be more than a slot possession receiver. And he's a free agent.
Replacing him with Davis would mean the Lions can do more pre-snap with their receivers and would give Jones and Tate better matchups.
They could then draft linebacker and d-line in the next rounds.

Despite getting to the playoffs, the Giants have holes nearly everywhere. They need a QB of the future to replacing the failing Eli. They need a full-time starting RB (Perkins can't carry the load himself). They need a WR2 (Shepherd is more of a slot guy). They need a TE (Tye was the worst TE in the NFL last season). They need at least one OL. They need a DT to replace Hankins. They could use at least one OLB and a kicker as well.

Obviously, some needs are bigger than others and not all will be addressed. I'd be content with the Giants picking somebody like Zach Cunningham or Ryan Ramczyk in the first round. I just hope they don't get FPS and pick a QB in the first round.

Looking at the mocks and draft boards i guess were cheering for either Jerod Davis from Florida or Taco Charlton. Both should be starters so im cool with either. Obv taco gets bonus points for being Blue and having a cool name.

IRT: TH14

I know we could use a WR but *** man seems like the lions could use another pass catcher every season. I'm 34 and being a lions fan since i was kid ive seen alot of early picks go to pass catchers so im never happy when we take one. I'd rather see us spend are early picks on defense for a few years and see where were at.

If Haslam makes the Browns take Mitch at #1, that will be worth watching 10 years of boring drafts...

They signed Brandon Marshall. Giants should about never take a WR in this draft especially early on.

Fewer holes than most teams btw, not sure what you're complaining about.

This is why I respect 2+2 a lot, everywhere people on the web were calling him a little raw, but filled with potential and a great prospect overall. Those low on him still thought he was worthy of a top 15 pick.
2+2 were giving him 3rd round grades, calling his ability undraftable, but his tools worthy of taking a flier in the mid rounds. Of course we (Needle and a few others echoing him) were right.

Browns should troll everyone and pick Trubisky 1st and Mahomes at 12.

The one #1 overall pick the Dolphins have had in my lifetime was Jake Long, who just retired at age 31 (with a different team). Dolphins did get 4 pro bowl years out of him though so I guess that was a success....unlike many many many many many other Dolphins 1st round picks such as Dion Jordan, Ted Ginn, Yatil Green, John Avery, Jason Allen, Randal Hill, Jamar Fletcher good lord how bad is this team?
