Sounds about right.
This still isn't as bad as the time Charley Armey tried to get his scouts to change their grades on Alex Smith to agree with him, and played a highlight reel to get them to do so

Jabrill Peppers has tested positive for a diluted urine sample at the combine. Is he trying to hide something that's in his system?

or he just drank way too much water to try to look heavier than he is to bolster his draft stock--it's possible.

Could mean he has the runs too. Just thought it was an odd report to see. He failed, what we don't know yet!

Great article by Mike Lombardi about his "day one starters" in this draft. He only has 14...he also has an interesting take on how how he and Bill Bellichik came up with a drafting system in Cleveland. Good stuff.

And I would kill for OJ Howard to still be there at 10 for the Bills.

I love how you can see Simmons in that article right there. It's an article about what every NFL team is doing wrong in their draft process with a guy who gives actual insight from Belichick into the most successful process in NFL history. You know what this article really needs? Jeremy Lin comparisons.

Instead of predicting rounds, our system forced our scouts to grade every player as (1) a starter, (2) a potential starter, (3) a developmental player, (4) a backup, or (5) someone who couldn’t make any NFL team. In Belichick’s room, no one was permitted to mention rounds — that job was for useless coffee-guzzling scouts and cliché-spouting TV commentators.

Ever wonder why the Patriots always move backward in the draft? Most times, their draft board features maybe 14 or 15 potential day-one starters — grades dictate everything. Why waste a first-round pick (and first-round money) on one of those 14–15 prospects if you believe you can land one later and land another asset?

I always figured the Patriots traded down because they picked in the 20s and those 14-15 starters were off the board by then.

I'm skeptical of Lombardi after that hideous QB article but I'll take a look.

Assume 49ers don't want/need QB because they intend to sign Cousins next offseason. They want Garrett. #1 for #2 swap is announced but terms haven't been disclosed yet. Best guesses at what that trade compensation would look like?

Too much, f dat noise. I assume multiple 1s (which is horrible since we will suck with or without Garrett for the next few years) or a lot of this draft which is again really stupid since we are so far from being respectable and have so many holes) or 1 and multiple 2/3rd round picks.

Per the current value chart it's a 1st and a 2nd to move up from 1st overall to second and the Niners would need compensation back to get even.

1st overall 3000 points
2nd overall 2600 points
34th (9ers)-560 points
3160 points in total.

108th pick-78 points.

Still off a little, but total would be close per the current value, 1st and 4th for 2nd overall and 2nd round pick. But I think Garrett is much more valuable than everyone else on board so I doubt they do it for an even trade value.

he didn't actually say that. He said that there is a correlation between those who fail a drug test and those who fail in the NFL..inferring that over the years it was a sign that more than ave who failed a drug test ended up not working out in the Lig

he didn't back it up with numbers and he's very clearly an old man Republican who wants to keep those black pot smokers in line but Freeman misrepresented him pretty badly with that tweet

Tyrann Mathieu, Justin Houston? DEZ although not sure if it was weed. He was an immature knucklehead who panned out. Just in recent years.

Not sure if Ray Lewis toked up but may have murdered someone.

Bust rate is high toke or no toke.

Well yes, far be it for me to be the Polian guy in here but he said that too.

He just said all other things being equal, it's higher with people who fail a drug test.

No idea if he has the stats to back it up or whether he's just a grumpy old rich guy

Trading up into the top 10 of this draft seems like a terrrible strategy given this class, no?

Well, so many teams want to trade down that the price for moving up is likely going to be at an all-time low, but probably.

Plz let the Bills trade down and still get a decent WR this year, rather than trading up and getting a QB who is horrible like usual.

I don't see the Bills being able to trade down and getting what they want out of it...maybe if Mitch or Watson is there at 10 and Cleveland really has a Jones for one of them...but who else is going to bother?

I see the Bills staying put at 10 and taking either Foster or Reddick...maybe they surprise us and go with OJ Howard. But I really feel like they're going to go defense...and a front 7 player...corner will wait. I see them going WR/CB in the 2nd and 3rd.

One of Foster/Reddick/Howard/Lattimore is going to be there at 10...and I don't see the Bills passing up on any of them...maybe if Watson is still there, they might pull the trigger...but I really hope they don't go QB there.

He'll fall to the Cowboys then for sure and Jerry will snap take him.

Yes. It's so deep. 4th round is going to be full of 2nd round value.
