Matt Flynn deciding to GOAT it up can guarantee some QB needy team will overpay him and be stuck with mediocre for a long time
I'd snapsign him over most firstrounders depending on contract etc. he has looked extremly well pretty much everytime I saw him play (twice lol). Sure GB talent helps but he has done a lot of good stuff I haven't seen from guys like Ponder

If we had gotten him instead of Palmer I'd be fistpumping right now...instead I'll have the offseason off

three chances for a dumb team to eff themselves, always nice.
Ravens are run pretty well and Rice has all but confirmed he'll resign with them. The Ravens have a pretty unique (some may say dumb but I think it's fairly smart actually) system of letting their free agents test the market and only asking them to let them match whatever they are worth and be first concideration. Don't remember how they do it exactly but read it somewhere credible.

I don't think signing forte would be effing yourself either.
Especially given the injury franchise tag is the way to go. Pretty douchy but seems like the best move. Other RBs have looked pretty good in his place FWIW

Assuming Brees isn't going anywhere Bowe is the big ticket imo. I'd be willing to break the bank for him. What cap space does Chicago have? Lofton seems like he could be a good grap for some teams as well. Williams and to a lesser extend Abrahams going to get some interest as well (dunno his exact injury situation). No idea about Mathis, pretty sure he'll not be in Indy..will be kind of strange seeing him on another team.

I agree now that I see what it would take to trade up for that id rather this team get G, CB, S, DT, LB help.
Pretty young team, good picks in the near future but somewhat tough division...the route to the SB is: BPA, BPA, BPA, BPA, BPA, etc.

Its a good start for sure. I'm just tired of Lovie, its like every off season we hire a scrub NFL retread with no upside, but its the same guy

As a Jets fan you should probably snap Sanchez for capspace.

@Needle: Is there any clever reason behind TE motion for the run game (or passing game for that matter)? Like I know (mostly slot) receivers get motioned a lot to see if the other team plays man or zone i.e. if a guy runs across the field with him it's likely man or a hybrid if they slide around it's zone. I'm sure NFL level defenses can fake this stuff as well but I'm curious about the reasons for TE motion. I get that you can change the strongside etc. but is there a similar run blocking read you can get that is comparable to the receiver motion coverage read?

Meh, a SB appearance and NFC CG appearance are nothing to sneeze at. Team would have made the playoffs this year if it wasn't for the Cutler injury. Lovie isn't the problem here.

I'd like to, if we can get enough participation. Definitely concerned with having enough people around to make sure it runs smoothly and quickly; don't want to end up drafting for 6-8 teams again.

Re: NFL 2012 Offseason Thread

Congrats to Bears fans. Angelo sucks hard. The last good decision he made was trading for Cutlaaahhhh.

Hey let's let our best safety go and replace him with Major Wright and Brandon Meriweather. Oh and let's protect our franchise QB with below-replacement level garbage. We should def hire an OC that consistently calls 30 step dropbacks, just to ensure that our QB dies. Hey, remember all of those first round flameouts from 8 years ago? Let's sign ALL of them. Roy Willams still a bona-fide #1 WR amirite? We should also refuse to re-sign our only elite offensive weapon. Who the **** needs Matt Forte when you got Kahlil Bell and Marion Barber?

Re: NFL 2012 Offseason Thread

Let's draft an o-lineman with a bad back with the #12 pick!

Let's welch on a trade agreement we have with the Ravens!

Let's be really defensive and pissed off in press conferences when moves that were terrible on the surface don't work out!

Re: NFL 2012 Offseason Thread

oh hey there is an offseason thread

and what foresight! made by deezy!

agree 100% with angelo being a sack of dung. not providing cutler with ANY help at all on the o-line (seriously might have been the worst o-line in history) for 3 years was bad enough, but trading olsen and not having a single legitimate receiver and deciding the solution was ****ing roy williams? angelo hung on for farrrrrrrrr toolong

Re: NFL 2012 Offseason Thread

I want Lovie fired because he's a mediocre coach. You can't just look at record, you have to look at success relative to the strength of the divison. the resume looks okay at first glance, but the NFC north was ripe for the plucking for a good chunk of the past decade

why wouldn't you want to fire Lovie?
