Lions obv better than their two wins, might be in a blessing in disguise as they need a CB and Patrick Peterson should be waiting for them. If Peterson is all he is cracked up to be then they would have a sick young core on defense with Suh, Delmas, and Peterson.

Luck is gonna go top 5, 1st QB taken. Mallet will be next, likely very early too considering lots of teams looking for QB. I could see Oakland trading back into the 1st for Newton. No idea about Locker still havent seen him play.

I'm thinking Newton will be picked higher than the sites are projecting. I've only seen a bit of him but he looks pretty elite and I don't see him as all that raw of a prospect. Just not much game experience.

He's 21, he has 13 career starts, and he's thrown 25 passes in a game exactly once. Whatever you might think of him as a prospect, the one thing I don't think you can debate is that he's very, very raw.

I could see him being picked ahead of Mallet if he has a good title game. VY went ahead of Cutler b/c Bud Adams happened to watch the Rose Bowl that year.

Its cliche to say inexperienced, "athletic" qbs are raw, but newton looks great in the pocket, he's accurate, he can avoid the rush and throw on the run. He looks like he could start as a rookie and not be completely terrible, if he plays he will have a better rookie year than the 3 09 qbs. Being impossible to sack is really such a massive advantage for a rookie qb, bc obv its pretty rare for them to read defenses well.
