Beanie's not on roster. Peterson should take another step forward as well. 5.5 was always a lol O/U.

lol you sure about that?

player A
85/118 (72%) 1108 yards 9 TDs 7 drops 13 broken tackles 543 YAC

player B
86/137 (62%) 1092 yards 10 TDs 12 drops 10 broken tackles 350 YAC

Crabtree also plays the outside, Cruz plays the slot. Theres no question who is more valuable when healthy

Cruz had tons of nagging injuries and will be much healthier and better this year. Also, how can you knock Harvin for being hurt and then say crabtree>cruz when crab currently has a torn acl?

I'm mainly talking about last yr, and value contributed. I think Cruz is great but hes no Crabtree, and Harvin already had injury issues before this offseason

Cards looked decent. Offense should be fun to watch for once...looks like they will be going deep bunch. Honeybadger looks like a steal

if the cards actually have a decent offense this year then the 2013 NFCW might be the BDOAT.

No way.

Early 90's NFC East had Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys winning consecutive Super Bowls with the Eagles being competitive with Randall Cunningham and their sick d-line.

Also Parcells, Gibbs, Jimmy Johnson, and lolBuddy Ryan >>> the current NFC West coaches.

Anyone know how to find what's the most wins a 4 team division has had without manually sorting through years of standings? Or what the answer is?

If Wilson gets a few tats he might be able to make the SB this year.

I might not be giving the Cardinals enough credit for adding Palmer.

I was scanning last year's EPA/P leaders, and saw Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were #1 and #2, with 0.28 and 0.27 EPA/P, respectively.

The bottom three were John Skelton with -0.20, Brady Quinn with -0.24 and Ryan Lindley with -0.34. In other words, Ryan Lindley subtracted more (expected) points per play than Brady and Manning added per play. That's pretty impressive.

Palmer's middling 0.08 would appear to be quite the shot in the arm.

Frightening that adding Palmer to the Cards is worth more than the Raiders would get by replacing Palmer with Tom Brady.

I manually went through all 11 seasons since the re-alignment.

Average number of wins:
NFC East leads with 33.6 wins per year, followed closely by AFC East and AFC South with 33.5 wins. Actually the first 5 divisions are all within 1 win of each other. No surprise, but the NFC West is last with 27.8 wins per year.

Worst season:
NFC West leads here, with this gem of a season (22 wins in 2008):

Best season:
AFC South leads here (42 wins in 2007):

Spreadsheet is here if you want the raw data:

Yeah, I remember looking at the Football Outsiders playoff odds that year and they were >90% to make the playoffs really early and 99% by week 11 or so.

(At week 11, Cards were 7-3, 49ers were 3-7, and the other two were 2-8. Cards went on to lose every non-division game after that)

Of course, that's also the year the Cards were within a minute of winning the Super Bowl.

Just realized i'm probably one of the lucky few that likes all of the NFC West teams. As a rams fan i've had to root for someone last few years, and that's been rustlers/kaeps. Despite everything ive said cards are ok too. Kurt had to take a chance somewhere

I think this may be what some (Dids for one, I think) complains about the NFC West. There's little hatred in this division. Redskins fans hate the Cowboys (and to a lesser extent the other two NFCE teams). Jets fans hate the Pats. Every fan of the AFCC hate the Steelers.

That's not as true for the NFC W. Some Cardinals fans may not like the other teams, but the hatred really isn't there. And I was rooting for the 49ers throughout the playoffs last season.

OTOH, I don't think you really need the hatred to have a good rivalry.

Well right, because our natural rivals borne of years of bloody battle are the Raiders/Chefs/Broncos, etc. But now a real mutual enmity has begun to develop between the Hawks/9ers
