Top 3 NFL coach (IYO) Jim Harbaugh has had years to work with Davis. His schemes increased Crabtree's productivity at the expense of Davis's. You have some work to $how.

wat

are u basing this off a 6 game sample at the end of the regular season where him and crabtree were the only 2 healthy receivers worth a **** and davis was often double covered?

cuz for the first year and a half under harbaugh he crushed. then he put up 100 yard games against both atlanta and baltimore. asserting that harbaugh would improve anyone at the expense of davis is pretty misguided

Didn't the seahawks rank dead last in receptions last year? Saying they have the same players shouldn't be something you are happy about. Boldin would be the seahawks #1 receiver without a doubt. The niners started using Davis in the passing game a lot in the playoffs last season and with Crabtree out its a pretty safe assumption Davis is going to have a BIG year.

How much of Davis's production has come split out wide vs. tight? My casualfan opinion tells me he'll have a harder time consistently beating corners than slow linebackers.

The Rice knee stuff sounds like nothing, Pete says he shouldn't even miss a preseason game.

The Harvin stuff sucks, but hardly a death blow to a team who won 11 after Wilson spent the first six weeks or so being a legitimately bad QB. It's unfortunate that, coinciding with this, on paper our first five-game stretch is the toughest, but...I don't know, I made peace with the Harvin situation fairly quickly. It is what it is and the Hawks should still be really good.

Last year we had Crabs, Davis, and Moss essentially with Walker, Kyle Williams, Manningham peppered in due to being 2nd strings or injured. This year we have Davis, Boldin as our 1/2 punch with Jenkins, Vance, Patton as well as Manningham/Kyle Williams still with injuries.

While I think our #1 receiver has definitely dropped with the Boldin addition and the Crabs injury, I think will be alright. A number of struggles for receivers was linked to the inability of Alex to run an O. That's thrown straight out the window with Kaep. In addition we have Gore, LMJ and Hunter as well as Lattimore potentially coming mid season at RB. I think will be fine on O. OL is still going to be a boss. Kaep should be better individually as well.

I'm much more worried about how Justin comes back from his injury, similarly how Aldon comes back from his injury as well as the performance of our CBs.

If we're ranking teams based on their #1 WR, I guess that means Cards are #1!

Wins, bro. This corps is good enough for 11-5 with a rookie QB. And there's definitely doubt about Boldin being better than Rice or Tate.

Also, Seattle is a running team. After that, they turn to the deep ball. After that, short passes. There weren't a lot of attempts. Low reception totals are not from bad receivers. It's from game planning.

they lost their #2 and 3 wrs basically as soon as kaep became the starter and he still crushed. pretty sure manningham + williams + boldin is > crabtree alone.

Harvin hasn't averaged much more in the way of missed games per season over his career thus far than Manningham, Williams, or Boldin, so it seems to me more that people who play WR are injury prone.

boldin has an absurdly physical style of play and has averaged 14 games per season. harvin has never run over a db in his life and has averaged 13.5 games per season. of course average number of games lost due to injury is going to tilt dramatically in favor of boldin, manningham and williams in a few months.

there's also the whole "was injured a bunch in college" thing

he's faster, bigger and can jump higher than julio jones just for a frame of reference

but iirc he hasn't split out wide in a regular season game yet

Because running .01 seconds faster in the 40 8 years ago is extremely relevant.

i agree, 8 years ago nfl prospects weren't regularly hiring sprinting coaches to improve their starts in timed 40s so davis is probably a good bit faster irl

Richard Sherman had a nice one-year run as best CB in the division.

Nope. In the BEAST thread that honor goes to a fan of last year's division champ... so that would have to be up to maybe Waterwolves, Assani, or perish the thought, Tyler Durden.
