Heads up time from the Louisville specialist (whose play of the year was Michigan outright today and haven't missed a Ville NCAA game since 1986 upset of 37-1 Duke in finals): Final Four next year. UofL monster team coming off of double disappointment of no tourney last year, 2nd round exit with a 2-seed this year ... Pitino is hungry for his last hurrah. It shows up in the metal of his team, which is bad, deep, and hazardous to the competition next year. As to whether they win it, no call right now ... but probably not. Somethng historic or anomalous will probably upend them.

P.S. The x-factor in that '86 NCAA Finals was UofL's horribly sloppy ball handling and protection all year combined with the sick pickpocket play of Amaker and Dawkins. Indeed in the title game not only did UofL turn the ball over 26 times, they had another near 40 turnovers, each possission consisting of series of near turnovers. But in the last ten minutes Amaker and Dawkins wore down, playing long intense mnutes, and UofL's Ellison and Crook gutted the Duke caucasion, who was it Bilas, Ferry, somebody else, underneath. Title to UofL with probably a record 26 turnovers in an NCAA Final. So it surprised me that the turnover bug was a given, it happened historically badly, and they won anyway.

If you hear me talking, Louisville is going to the Final Four next year; if you dont, leave it alone. And they're going with some scary abuse of good teams along the way ... like UK used to do under Pitino. Pitino even sounded a warning shot in his post-game presser today. Not his usual shtick.
