10 fouls in less than 4 minutes. They're gonna adjust tho.

Early takes: Duke has interior defense and rebounding problems. Kennard can't handle the ball without using his off-arm. Kansas can't shoot at all but has advantage just going straight at the rim. This is a refshow.

College basketball had a good run. Good job ruining KU DUKE. 83 stoppages of play in 12 minutes, this is unwatchable.

Completely happy with a 2 point buzzer-beater loss to Kansas given the circumstances. Tatum and Bolden will be back soon and Giles hopefully in a month or two.

this.

Two of the best three players in Giles and Tatum were out (they could be the best 2 players, but Grayson could also be better than one or both). Bolden is also the best center on the team by a large amount and a top 7 player though who knows how high he actually ranks in that hierarchy.

On top of that, Grayson (the best healthy player) played one of the 3 worst games of his career (one of the other 2 was in this event vs. Kentucky last year) and Amile (the 2nd or 3rd best healthy player) also played like trash.

Kansas played well, but they won by 2 on a jumper with 2s left. At full strength Duke is going to be insanely good and would likely beat this Kansas team pretty handily.

No regular season games ultimately matter for Duke this year. We will win plenty of games to make the tournament in good standing and as long as we are healthy should be the favorite to win it all.

As a Duke fan Im pretty happy with last night. The refs overcalled fouls on each side, but they were hurt more because of their lack of depth. Duke essentially couldnt defend for the last 10 minutes of the game. Their biggest problem was preventing offensive rebounds and getting those frosh big in there should really help.

Jeter seems to have made decent progress over the summer. He still isnt ready to play a key role but he's becoming a legit rim protector and isnt the black hole on offense he was last year. IDK if Allen has progressed to the point where he can take over games offensively at will. He was off for the first 36 minutes of the game and had that injury. But Kennard seems to have progressed nicely offensively and Jackson looks like he might be starting at some point. That plus Jones' outside shooting should be enough to get it done from the backcourt.

Obv sucks to lose your first real game, but like CDL said, regular season games dont really matter that much. A hard fought game with likely role players getting key minutes is going to help them come tourney time.
