Don't let this distract you that the rockets aren't making the finals this year and the warriors have 1 championship (when they beat the **** out of said rockets) and may be headed towards more (hopefully knocking out the rockets three years in a row)

I watched Mike Sweetney play in the The Basketball Tournament a couple of years ago. He was a blimp who couldn't play more than 3-4 minutes at a time. Could still dunk though.

What else are those guys really doing right now? Per their statement on NBA.com in December; some of the guys just want to stay in shape. Players get 100k + bonues for winning games/playoffs.

If the players are from the 70s/80s like Gervin, I can't imagine they made crazy money.

I know AI makes some money from the Sixers for appearances (200-300k/year) and has a big payout from Reebok I believe when he turns 45.

Sounds like the league could be fun.

Will it be on TV? (I assume it's yes; if so the league is right after the finals so it won't be competing with anything for basketball watching other than the WNBA).

ok - so what I want here is the Captains and Coaches of each team playing 2-on-2. that would be interesting. I've no interest in watching the benches.
