[My Lakers draft Ball .. but I worry about his father.]
Brian Windhorst said on PTI today that Melo is going to ask to be RELEASED from the Knicks.

That he'll use his no trade clause as leverage to get him released.

This way:
- He doesn't weaken the team he joins.
- He gets to keep getting paid his current contract
- He gets to sign a new deal and make even more delicious money

Why would the Knicks do that? As opposed to letting Melo just rot on the bench. **** Melo

To cut ties so the whole next season isn't surrounded with "will they trade him or not".

To move on and embrace a proper rebuild, centered around Porzingis.

And to tank properly for the 2018 NBA Draft.

Knicks releasing melo wouldn't be bad for either party, a champion contender could afford to take him, knicks just need to clean the books at this point, the noah signing was so awful and by far the worst decision phil jackson made
04-14-2017 , 10:49 PM
first of all, let's release Noah
04-14-2017 , 10:51 PM
Noah was better than Carmelo last year in WS/48, BPM and VORP
04-14-2017 , 10:52 PM
no real reason to release melo - just let him sit on the bench - or injured reserve - until someone wants him. he does, after all, need to play in order to move up the all time pts scorers list

This.

Phil Jackson isn't going to tell Hornachek to bench Melo for the entire season. People are losing their minds over a couple tweets, imagine the backlash of that. The reality is probably that Melo doesn't want to leave but Phil and everyone's grandma knows they aren't going to win w/ Melo either. So what really is the easiest, quickest way to get rid of him if you don't care about a poo-poo platter of "assets" back?

KP just shy and afraid of getting run out of town like JLin and thus pretending to be Carmelo's friend.

I'll say it, it's easy to laugh at the Knicks for being a dysfunctional disaster, that much is clear, but Staps needs to have some perspective. He's a 21 year old who at best plateaued and maybe even regressed. You have a few years left on your rookie deal, you're not going anywhere, maybe focus a little more on improving your game before acting like a big shot. I hate the entitled attitude. You had a great rookie season but you're not a star yet.

I'm not turning on Staps, I love the guy and he's pretty much the only shot we have (aside from boxing the lottery) at reaching the glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. But **** man this year was such a colossal disappointment and you were a part of that, man up and do/say the right things.

Your team had the best regular season of all time, has in your opinion the GOAT and acquired the 2nd if not best player in the league. They are MONSTER favourites to ship for the next 3+ years.

Maybe let some of the hate go a little, it can't be good for you.

Yeah I can see a little bit of what you're saying, it really seems as though he used the drama as a crutch to get out of talking about his own game.

I know it's easier to face the media after a fairly successful season, but Staps could learn a lot from his fellow second year big.

I don't get this at all, STAPS has been a complete professional and a hard worker determined to become the best he can be:

Quote:
The future of Carmelo Anthony is uncertain at this point, but if Melo leaves, KP would become the focal point of New York's offense. "I haven’t thought about that," Porzingis said. "I'm really focused on getting better as a player. Once that time comes, I’m sure I’ll be ready." KP also said that his "No. 1 [goal] is getting in that weight room and living in there, basically."

He had achilles/leg issues early in the year that lingered which explains a lot of the "regression"(He was Top 20 RPM pre injury), and he improved in a lot of areas especially in becoming a more reliable scorer. Of course body type and injury issues is a concern but I don't think effort, commitment and work ethic are issues.

I think you should view his frustration and showering of Phil as a positive sign. It's not like he doesn't like New York, and as long as he progresses they will be a good playoff team pretty much no matter what by the time he is able to leave.

Lonzo Ball
Courtney Lee
Paul George

I am a long-term regular poster in the English football threads. I've read your explanation of how you arrived at 2+2. If you weren't a moron you would have noticed this.

Here's the thing: people routinely [exchange moneys] 100 times larger than your agreement with thay3r on a single game (any sport) on this site; in the "good old days" 1000 times.

If you have genuine reason to think someone is scamming you, after reasonable research, then it is imperative to inform the forum.

Otoh, we don't undermine people's reputations without proof. Of instances you know about: Cashy and fanerio - people had proof. But you don't get to say B***s hasn't posted for 4 months - he's running away from his $50 season bet with me until that happens. Ditto thay3r.

I'm taking time here to play nicely with you here because, imo, you are a not terrible poster in the English football thread (for a Plol-fan) - and, crucially, as I know you haven't come to 2+2 via poker, I'm prepared to give you some lee-way about not understanding the base culture here. But if you persist with this I will report your posts.
i immediately assumed he was mentally challenged

I vote that the NBA should get rid of the charge.

You wanna stop someone down the lane? Block his shot.

You shouldn't be able to just stand there like a ****ing tree and get rolled over.

I want to confirm this.

Of all the people I've contacted THAY3R was the first one to contact me and pay me. And he actually PM'd me from a tapatalk name I didn't recognize before I even reached out to him. Top poster, paid immediately.

wat?

That would make it even more impossible for refs. LeBron would literally draw a foul every single time he drove the lane if the charge didn't exist and we'd get to watch teams shoot even more foul shots and more refs ref which kill the game enough as it is already

Of course Ed Malloy gets the Raptors game, why does the NBA hate the Raptors?
